Username Change - Resolved

[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because its username is a blatant violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane; threatens, attacks or impersonates another person; or suggests that your intention is not to contribute to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames, nor is trolling or other disruptive behavior ever tolerated. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} on your user talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Requested username:

Request reason:

My username is self-referential, and not an attack on another person. I am Mitchell. If you look at my edit history (brief as it is for the moment) you will see that my intention is to contribute to the encyclopedia. That said, I can see how my username could be misconstrued and I would be happy to change it.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 15:21, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Mitchellisdumb". The reason given for Mitchellisdumb's block is: " Your account has been blocked indefinitely because the chosen username is a clear violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane; threatens, attacks or impersonates another person; or suggests that you do not intend to contribute positively to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information). We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, so if you think we are wrong then please tell us. But users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames, and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. If you think there are good reasons why these don't describe your account, or why you should be unblocked, you are welcome to appeal this block - read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. ".

Decline reason: As far as I can tell the autoblock has been lifted. What message do you get when you try to edit? — Daniel Case (talk) 22:01, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

at the end of your user talk page.
