Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at The Lord of the Rings. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been automatically reverted.
- If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
- ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
- If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to place "
{{helpme}}
" on your talk page and someone will drop by to help. - The following is the log entry regarding this warning: The Lord of the Rings was changed by Mdkhan2013 (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.918486 on 2013-07-03T18:44:01+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 18:44, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
British spelling vs. American spelling
[edit]Please do not change British spellings to American spellings in articles that have strong national ties to that country, such as "A Tale of Two Cities", or in articles that have British spelling established. That page also contains the template "Use British English" at the top. See WP:TIES and WP:RETAIN. Chris the speller yack 02:04, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Recent edits to A Tale of Two Cities
[edit]Hello, and thank you for your recent contributions. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit(s) because it did not meet one or more of our policies.
Specifically, it is against policy to change the spelling from UK to US (or vice veras) on an article. Articles may be written in either spelling convention, so long as it's consistent throughout the article; once written, it is against policy to change the spelling in a given article.
Feel free to read more there, or contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! Ijon (talk) 06:21, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
