Things going well - same here though, never find time to do all the things I want to do :( Just saw this... finally we have the data to show the ratio problem was really bad for 20-40 year old women in 1921, which makes the surplus women issue after the war very real, in contrast to the moral panic of the preceding era. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18854073 Mcsony (talk) 18:14, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

DX7

You'll need much better sources to make the claim about how hard the DX7 was to program, especially being "notoriously" difficult or difficult to perform live. Nobody programmed the synth live! Rather, they worked on their patch programming in private, without the audience watching. During a live show they would call up their saved patches. Binksternet (talk) 21:22, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Crossed messages with your talk page. DX7 was notoriously difficult to program, hence the whole secondary industry in the manuals. Partly because of the crappy buttons, partly because of the paradigm shift. You can be nice and say I need better sources, and I agree. But telling me I'm just plain wrong and being patronising is hardly helping encourage a more junior wikipedia contributor. Anyway, maybe we got off on the wrong foot. I think we both are trying to achieve the same thing. :) I was about to award you a special synth barnstar but seeing this comment kinda made me change my mind a little. Sorry about assuming the PDF was a user manual! The title and the fact that it was a PDF made me jump to the wrong conclusion. The PDF is a scan of Keyboard magazine, so it's perfectly legit. Regarding your idea, I took your source and I looked at books available online, and I came up with this little paragraph about difficulty. What do you think? Awesome!!! That is much more balanced than what I was writing, and gets into the specifics of why it was difficult to program. I think that's a huge improvement on what I was writing. Also, I like how it gets to the very heart of the reason why the DX7 is very difficult at first but is worth mastering. Thanks Mcsony (talk) 22:24, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
