License tagging for File:Pb220s at albany.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pb220s at albany.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:09, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Ny naval militia small.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:08, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Mebs fleet 2.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Mebs fleet 2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Original research problem on New York Naval Militia article

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Mcknighd. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article New York Naval Militia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.

-I have substituted out the picture that you said was wrong for another more up-to-date picture. However, you provided no rationale for removing the other pictures, so they have been put back in. Also, the educational section is taken from a current reading of the official New York Naval Militia website; if you have personal knowledge about changes to that which have been made, but you do not provide a proper citation, then that would be considered original research, and such changes are not allowed on Wikipedia. For example, if the New York Naval Militia no longer provides educational benefits for its members, as its website directly says it does, then a published source must be provided stating that the state of New York no longer provides those benefits if that section is to be removed. Statements, such as the one you made, which said "I am a full time employee of the organization, and have full access to the most relevant information" do not meet the criteria of making edits to Wikipedia. Edits must be backed up by proper published sources. Et0048 (talk) 01:13, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
