The Project
[edit]Hi Mcheesie79! I'm sorry about some of the changes that have occurred since your last edit on The Project (Australian TV program), although I'd just like to remind you that working on an article is a collaborative effort and that all users are welcome to improve and discuss edits made to the current article. Also, Jan Fran has been moved to the panellists section of the article because she appears more often as a panellists than a host. Thank you, Happily888 (talk) 03:29, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi Happily888, Thanks for your messages. Here are a few points... - Hamish MacDonald hasn't been a main host of the show since he left to host Q&A. Recently he was a panelist on a Friday or Sunday night, but I think Jan Fran (it was a substitute host, it may have been Dr. Chris Brown) sat in the male host chair. So that means it is unlikely that Hamish will be the main male host again. - People like Hamish MacDonald, Georgie Tunny, Tony Armstrong (Australian rules footballer), Marc Fennell etc are becoming panelists who appear often, so they should be acknowledged on the page. - Marc Fennell hasn't substituted in the male host chair for a while since he started hosting Mastermind. But he still is a panelist often. So more panelists should be listed, as there are more regular panelists than days of the week. - People like Ryan Fitzgerald and Em Rusciano haven't appeared as panelists that often for a while now. - Susie Youssef hasn't appeared in the comedian chair for a while now. She has been in the panelist chair when someone else has substituted for Tommy. -Gorgi Coghlan hasn't been on for ages. It has mainly been Jan Fran or Rachel Corbett who has substituted in the female host chair. - Jan Fran has been a regular substitute for Carrie and Lisa. - As Chris Bath is based in Sydney and has mainly substituted for Lisa on a Sunday and someone else has hosted the news beforehand. It is unlikely she will substitute for Carrie. - Certain panelists can appear on any days of the week lately, so I think the days of the week are past its expire date and more panelists are appearing more often. - Thanks for your reply. I think that the current article does still reflect most of the points you have made. For some of the newer panelists/replacement co-hosts, I think it might be better to wait to see if they continue appearing for a significant period of time before adding them to the article. Although panellists can appear on any day of the week, there are some days that the same panellist/s choose to more regularly appear. Anyways, remember to be WP:BOLD with your edits! - I don't think it reflects most of the points I made, otherwise I wouldn't have made them. Most of the points I made were made because they weren't changed on the page, but they have been happening for a while now. The points I made are totally different that what the page currently shows, thats why I mentioned them as they need updating, otherwise it's not true. Hamish MacDonald is still listed as a substitute host, although it is mentioned elsewhere that he is only a Panellist. Jan Fran has become part of the hosting family. - Having days of the week reduces the amount of people that can be listed but it prevents panellists who appear often and have become part of The Project family. Although Hamish MacDonald is no longer a host he still appears as a panellist and the article of name lists doesn't reflect that. Jan Fran often is a substitute host for a while now and it doesn't reflect that. Many Panellists who are not listed in the article have been panellists for a while now and having days of the week cuts them from being mentioned when they are a part of the show. Why list Susie Youssef as a comedian substitute when she hasn't done that for a while? Why list Chris Bath as a Substitute for Carrie when she isn't even in Melbourne? Why highlight Ryan Fitzgerald and Em as being there on certain days of the week when they aren't there that often? Why not highlight people who are often on the show and have been for a while now? You can still update the page / article, but when people seem to appear often and have become the show's family, why not highlight them as that. They haven't just appears a few times, they have appeared often, but just because they don't appear every week doesn't mean they don't deserve to be highlighted as part of the family. It is important to show The Project for what it is rather than what it's not. So the wikipedia page needs to be current and up to date otherwise it is showing people the wrong information and fake news, when they show isn't about fake news. - I'm not saying that the article shouldn't be updated with new panellists as it clearly needs some work, I'm just saying that there are some panellists who shouldn't be added yet unless they have made significant appearances on the show (as there are many guests in the past who have had short stints on the show). Marc Fennell's been on the show eight times and Georgie Tunny seven times since this January last year, which compared to other panellists such as Rachel or Susie isn't very often at all. It would be better to wait until they appear more often before adding them. I think that the article adequately shows that Hamish doesn't appear as a host anymore, instead being a replacement/substitute host. Happily888 (talk) 10:45, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
- As I said Hamish is no longer a replacement/substitute host. It is obvious he is just a panellist. It is obvious when he wasn't the replacement/substitute host chosen when Dr Chris Brown or Jan Fran took the male host chair and Hamish took the panelist chair a number of weeks back. If he was still a replacement/substitute host, he would have been given that chair. But he hasn't had it for a while. Whenever he is on the show, he is only a panelist. It even says "Macdonald still featured as a panellist on the show, amongst his ABC commitments." when it says he has left his Sunday role so why is he still listed as a replacement/substitute host when he obviously isn't. Sorry, being Autistic makes me very logical and I see what I see and say it. Mcheesie79 (talk) 11:01, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
- I am just surprised that Hamish, Susie, and Chris Bath are still listed in Substitute roles that they don't do anymore. But I tend to always do the wrong thing due to my Autism. So I won't touch the page anymore as I seem to always do the wrong thing. Mcheesie79 (talk) 11:07, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
