The new article

Hi Mila, I had a quick go through this new one. I will probably have to go through it again later today. Invertzoo (talk) 14:09, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Image

The bridge image made it pretty far into the competition. Best of luck to you. I am too conflicted on which one is the best to vote yet. You are all so cocky down there in SF. How about next year you put one up of Seattle so I have more reason to vote. ;) Cptnono (talk) 02:42, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

What do you mean you are too conflicted on which one is the best to vote yet? Of course you should vote for my bridge :-) but I myself voted for this one
although you are right they all are great.
And thank you so very much for this post. It was kind of you, and it is exactly what I needed now. Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 02:51, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Always a pleasure.
The image you voted for brings up one of the issues I have. Your image was taken by a contributor which should be encouraged. The one you voted for was touched up significantly by someone who is a contributor which is also a good thing.
This one makes me want to sip on some wine. And this one makes me want to go back to school. Yours is of a great town with a nice contrast of urban architecture and nature. Take this as a compliment: I assumed some of the animal ones were taken by you when I was looking at the gallery!Cptnono (talk) 03:08, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
"Sip on some wine?" "go back to school?" It is really romantic! I am not as romantic as you are. Both of these images make me want to take my camera, my tripod, and go out to take pictures :-)--Mbz1 (talk) 05:00, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
I just like nice pictures. And by "sip" I really meant "guzzle". Going to go vote now. Have a good night!Cptnono (talk) 05:24, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
You too.--Mbz1 (talk) 05:42, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Nazi talking dogs

Hello! Your submission of Nazi talking dogs at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Schwede66 19:56, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

RE: Nazi talking dogs

I think ALT4 would work well. However, it wasn't me who moved it. Right now the preps are full, so perhaps later another editor or I can add alt4. Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:56, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Hello, Crisco 1492, I did not mean to move it, I only asked to specify The nomination entry what alt besides alt6 is good to go. Sorry for misunderstanding. Thank you.--Mbz1 (talk) 23:18, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
ALT4 seems to be best in my opinion. Cheers! Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:34, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
I understand, but could you please add your opinion here versus adding it to my talk page? Thank you.--Mbz1 (talk) 23:38, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Self-depreciation

Mbz, I hope you do not take offence to this comment. If you do, please do not hesitate to remove it. I wanted to let you know that you do not need to be so self-depreciating. You're constantly beating yourself up, and seem to be of the impression the value of your contributions to Wikipedia is in some way less than that of other editors. This comment and your recent e-mails spring to mind as recent examples, but I'm sure there are more. It makes you appear over-sensitive, and surely is not good for your self-esteem. More suspicious editors might even think that you are being manipulative, although I don't think that that is the case. Please, be a little more confident. Wikipedia is a hobby, and you're a volunteer. You should enjoy being here! AGK [] 22:52, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Venus reflected in the Pacific Ocean

Dear Ms. / Mrs. Zinkova:

I am glad to inform you that I have decided to use a picture of yours in order to illustrate my Website and other commercial projects.

The picture was taken from Wikimedia Commons, and as I understand it, you uploaded that picture in that server with the intent to share it with others.

Of course, due credit is given and a link to your license is included.

The resulting Webpage is the following:

https://sites.google.com/site/aldoloup/articulos/no-todo-lo-que-brilla-es-ovni

A Portuguese-language version will follow.

I want to thank you for the opportunity to use that picture. However, if you feel in any way that my use of your picture does not fit into your original intentions, please let me know it as soon as possible.

Sincerely yours,

Your Pescadero State Beach image

I looked at the nomination again, and due to the technicality that Alvesgaspar pointed out, the result stands. It does look like people like Edit 2, so you should consider putting it in the article to replace the original image. You might also consider re-nominating the image in a month or so. request picture

Wondered if you could make a picture of a drop of water on a DWR-coated surface. Preferably a pretty small drop (they get almost spherical). The point is to show the hydrophobicity, but it would also be a very pretty image as well. The only one I could find in Commons is a gray jacket with some water on it. you can sorta see it is beading...but I am really looking for much more of a blowup. Like an image of the single drop. Like this, but from the SIDE. [1] Knowuttimean? Can't believe we lack such an image of what is a relatively easy science trick (spray some scotchgardand put a drop of water on it. Really could go in a few different articles. TCO (talk) 19:24, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Water droplet at DWR-coated surface1.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hey

I saw you're around, so I thought I'd say Hi. Hope you're enjoying your wikibreak, I haven't taken one in a while so I can't say I know what it's like. It's funny, I've taken a one week break from editing once in the last 16 months and other than that I haven't taken a break of more than 3 days. So I decided to stay away from DYK for a while. I realized I was just writing a bunch of short little articles. So I figured I'd go back through some of my old DYK's and try to get them up to Good Article quality (easier said than done). Anyway, I hope you're spending a lot of time at the beach and enjoying your summer. Qrsdogg (talk) 00:52, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank you, it is kind of you to say "hi"! I am just passing by, mostly because I was asked to take a picture and today I did.
I am enjoying the break, done lots of reading, watched lots of movies, and was walking the beach.
Good luck with your quest for GA and FA. Some articles I wrote also could go GA, but this task is not for me. Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 01:23, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

I often take images of green flash sunsets. Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 03:36, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
Awesome. I've actually never seen one. Don't have the patience, I guess. I have eaten at a restaurant in MB with that name, though.TCO (talk) 04:27, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
Actually, this is the article that motivated me to ask you for your help Fluorine. It's not perfect, but is coming along. I have been helping the major contributor on some of the MOS and copyedit and even science logic (but he did almost all the content). Trying to get it to FAC like Oxygen. I have also been pushing to make our images look better. More different types of images, prettier ones, different aspects shown, etc. You can see in the history from a month ago, that it has progresesed.TCO (talk) 04:27, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
You, TCO, are really doing a great work in building encyclopedia!
I have a Fluorine crystal.I will try to take a close up image of it. Maybe it will be useful for the article. I will be happy to help you with the images, if you have some specific requests, but honestly I do not anticipate to be around here much longer.I only interrupted my break because I saw your request at my talk page, but I am busy in a real life, and I do need a long break at least. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 04:59, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, yeah, no worries! Take care of real life. I just ask to see what I get, but don't expect anything. RL much more important than Internet.

For fluorine, I'm working on a flow diagram (more of a Powerpoint drawing) showing the economics of the element from mineral to gas to compounds. I just need to do the research first. And buckle down.TCO (talk) 05:11, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Non-Free rationale for File:Jason, a Jewish archer on the prow of a pirate ship .jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Jason, a Jewish archer on the prow of a pirate ship .jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under Non-Free content criteria but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a Non-Free rationale.

If you have uploaded other Non-Free media, consider checking that you have specified the Non-Free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:25, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

I added rationale, and removed the tag. Hope it is OK now. Thanks.--Mbz1 (talk) 14:06, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Mbz1, how it feels to be falsely accused without even being given an opportunity to respond to the false accusations?

I have just noticed yet another false accusation made against you by Ohiostandard. The user claims that you were the one, who "repeatedly posted POV tag", when you were the one who removed POV tag , which was later added back by User:Roscelese, a buddy of Ohiostandard. What is interesting that User:Roscelese who added the tag after you removed it failed to put it back after her buddy Ohiostandard removed it. They make false accusations about you over and over again, and sometimes get lost in their own false accusations.Isn't this funny? Broccolo (talk) 21:07, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank you, TCO. It is nice of you, but I am not sure about this image. It is a little bit small I believe. May I please ask you do not get disappointed, if it is not promoted? Thank you for the kitten!Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 00:43, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Oh yeah, no biggies. Was doing it for you and Wiki and the FPers more than for me. I had no role in the image. Not like when FS and I collaborated on the range map in "Painted turtle".
Sure you had a big role in the image. If it were not for you, I would not have taken it, but it is good you nominated it. Maybe somebody with a better lens ( I have no macro lens) will see it, and take a better image for the articles and for wikipedia. --Mbz1 (talk) 01:12, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
You did a great job as a nature photog, getting geeky for me. Yeah, it is the kind of thing one can take with more of a lab camera for specimens. I have messed with it in real life and it can be dramatic to see what happens after spraying scothgard on something. No biggies if we lose. In some ways it is a "simple" picture. But was so surprised we did not have one yet. In addition, you really made it look PRETTY. Still a great add to Wiki and I am having fun, doing things that are "different". TCO (talk) 01:20, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for commenting on my image! We're doing great so far :-) We got only one oppose, and even this one is a "weak oppose", and even this "weak oppose" is because of EV and not because of the quality, and it might be changed to "neutral" or even to "support" :-)--Mbz1 (talk) 01:59, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Yeah...I don't mind when the beat me up on the picture. The EV thing bugged me since it is in several science articles and we lacked any comparable image. It's fine though. I am not very good politically (warning).TCO (talk) 02:03, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
I do hope that JJ will see the image, and take a better one. he has a great macro lens. It should be really interesting image taken with a good macro.
I do like to play with water droplets and with soap bubbles for this matter. I have a dream to take an image of Golden Gate Bridge in a soap bubble. I took a few, for example this one , but it could be done much better. Maybe one day...--Mbz1 (talk) 02:15, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Probably get a good view from the Presidio.TCO (talk) 02:18, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
The problem is not with the view, but with my husband. See, he does not feel comfortable making the bubbles in a public place :-) That's why I ended up making bubbles myself, and taking pictures myself, and it is hard. Besides there's always windy there. --Mbz1 (talk) 02:36, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi mila,

I had Iceberg in my watchlist and noticed that you added your iceberg FP to it. A relevant addition and an improvement (it was there previously at some stage, wasn't it?). However, as there was also a Cape York iceberg photo just underneath it in the article I took the liberty of replacing your FP with my Upernavik iceberg FP. I admit is does not have the same technical quality as yours, but I think that iceberg fills the frame better, to illustrate "one iceberg", and due to the larger hole it is IMO more eyecatching. If there is some point I was missing feel free to revert the replacement, as I have no strong feelings about it, it just felt like it added a little more visual diversity to the article.

Best wishes,

--Slaunger (talk) 23:39, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Kim, my image was promoted as a lead image in Iceberg. It used to be in Iceberg for quite some time until it was replaced with another image in March. Your image was promoted as a lead image in Water. Now your image is a lead image in both Water and Iceberg. My image is used only in a gallery in a single and not very important article, but to tell you the truth I do not really care. If you believe, your image is better for the article, that's fine. Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 01:32, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
Hi mila, I have reverted to restore some lead image diversity. On second thought it was fine as it was — even if you do not care... --Slaunger (talk) 13:19, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Giant Anteater Image

Greetings, Please allow me to introduce myself. I am a biologist who lives and works in Belize with a non profit organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of the rainforest in Belize. (www.bfreebz.org) I am currently working on a manuscript that highlights the Biodiversity of the Bladen Nature Reserve in Belize. I am adding a section on the more interesting and notable sights in Belize and would like permission to use your image of the giant anteater while searching Google images.

The book will be used to educate the local kids about the amazing biodiversity of Belize and we are securing funding to distribute books to the schools.

Would you be willing to allow me to use your image? If so, of course proper photo credit will be given.

Also, if you indeed do allow me to use the image, would it be possible to send a higher res image? My internet server can handle images up to about 3 MB.

My email address is mesodon@earthlink.net

Thanks for your consideration,

Trouting

Hey Mbz, hope everything's just fine with you. I just moved, so my life is pretty jumbled right now. But, anyway, I just wanted to mention that trouting someone that you're involved in a dispute with is generally frowned upon. It's supposed to just be used for "subtle adjustments to clue levels", and tends to just be used on people that you have a collegial relationship with. Now, I know what it is like to have an article nominated for deletion, in fact, an AfD of one of my articles was the first time I really blew my top on-wiki. Even today, I saw a bizarre (not the Mein Kampf one) AfD that really made me shake my head. But sometimes, you just have to break the wrist and walk away :) Qrsdogg (talk) 04:41, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

That being said, your statement that "I suffer absolutely equally, when a innocent person is killed no mater what nationality or what religion this person is." is really meaningful. If only more people could honestly say that the world would be a much better place. Qrsdogg (talk) 04:51, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Well as you see at least one more editor felt as trouting the nominator.
You said that you "know what it is like to have an article nominated for deletion".I am not sure you do.I mean you cannot know, and I wish you never get to know how it feels, when the nominator nominates on deletion an author and not an article.I do not mind AfD on my articles. I do mind such hateful nominations that have so many false accusations, personal attacks, false statements, and this what I was trying to explain to that user.
Yes, I am hurting absolutely equally, when an innocent person is killed no matter what religion and nationality this person is. I'll tell you more:If somebody told me that, if I am to sacrifice my own life, this will bring ever lasting peace to both Palestinians and Israelis, I would have done it at once.
Whatever...--Mbz1 (talk) 05:14, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Well, in the end, this is just a website, but it really can affect people's real lives. I was drawn to Wikipedia as a college freshman because it was a convenient source of information; it really amazes me how this has been a part of my life over the past eight years! In any case, I have not gone through what you have, and I don't claim to. I certainly don't envy as the B.S. that you and many other good-natured editors have put up with over the years. But whatever conclusion you take from all this: know that I do respect you and what you've done here. Qrsdogg (talk) 05:44, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. I came to wikipedia because of green flash. Once I took an image of a green flash, and it was displayed at one of NASA sites. I got email from a wikipedian, who asked for permission to upload the image to wikipedia. So I gave the permission. I was very happy that my image would be used on wikipedia. At that time I did not know anybody could edit it. Then I forgot about wikipedia and my image.I was busy at work. Then in a few month or so, my friend bought an astronomy magazine in Italy. He sent me an email and told me they published my image. I was sooo surprised. Nobody ever asked me for the permission. And then I remembered about wikipedia. I went there to see what's going on with my image...and here I am. Honestly I wish I have never taken that image, I wish I have never sent it to that NASA site, I wish I have never started on wikipedia or at least not under my real name. It is so much easier to contribute as an anonymous user, but too late now. Everything is too late...
I respect your contributions a lot, and I really enjoyed working with you on some articles.--Mbz1 (talk) 06:01, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your kind words, I'm glad to hear it. It is fascinating, but sometimes saddening, to hear how people first came to this place and how it has affected them. Qrsdogg (talk) 06:20, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Peter Pepper

Well, I doubled its size and found some new refs, but it looks like a 5x expansion will be out of reach. How hard was it for you to find them? The sources I found said they're usually pretty rare (or at least they were when the books I saw were written). Qrsdogg (talk) 15:10, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

It is so strange! You were writing me a message at my talk page at the same time I was writing you a message at your talk page, and the message was about the same thing! I believe we should make a wish, and it is going to come true :-)--Mbz1 (talk) 15:14, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

No problem, thanks anyway. ZHurlihee (talk) 15:46, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

User talk pages

Users are at liberty to remove material from their talk page once they have read it. This restoration of material which was properly deleted isn't going to get your point over any more forcefully than the first time you posted it. Personally, I prefer never to remove material from my talk page even if I disagree with it; I think it forms a useful chronological record of discussions. But if Roscelese prefers to remove your post/s please don't revert that. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 15:53, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for your message, Kim. I agree with you, it is not a good practice to restore removed messages, and usually I do not it. In this particular situation I did it for the record only to add a difference that I failed to add in my initial post. Besides as you probably saw as soon as I restored my post, I removed it again, saving Roscelese (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) a time of removing it herself :-). Regards.--Mbz1 (talk) 15:59, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

tiresome

Let off

Really. Just learn to grow up. I've been gone for several months, and even after all that, you jumped in a conversation that had absolutely nothing to do with you to claim something of me that was unambiguously false. How old are you exactly? If it's 20+, I'm surprised you haven't yet learned to act like it, and cut out the petty crap. Are you seriously that full of yourself? Learn to drop it.— dαlus+ Contribs 00:52, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

What, only coming to my talk page instead of going crying at AN/I, and at willing admin talk page?? Surprise, surprise from the user that from its own admission is only good to hunt for socks :-).
Let me finish up my thought quoting IP's message posted to your talk page about your conduct Daedalus969 "I just looked at your edit war with some obvious joker over the Rock Lobster/family guy thing, and it made my mind up about whether or not to donate to Wikipedia. I love the wikipedia concept, but when you're an example of the typical user, I'm sad to say that I just can't believe in it.". disclosure: I have no idea who this IP and what it is about, but I could not say it any better then IP did and with this I am kindly asking you to stay off my talk page once and for all.--Mbz1 (talk) 01:12, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
If you want me to stay away, then you need to stay away from me. Continue harassing me and I'll continue posting here. I have, many time, asked you to let off and leave me alone, yet you keep coming back time and time again to bait and insult. What I love most about your response above, however, is that you don't even address your own false accusation of my own actions.. I asked for a warning. Not a block.
But, since you appear to be having trouble reading, let me make this clear: Leave me alone, and I'll be happy to leave you alone. Continue to post in discussions which do not concern you, which have nothing to do with you, where I am involved, and I will post here. Remember, this talk page isn't yours, it's provided by the foundation to facilitate communication.— dαlus+ Contribs 01:18, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
OK,OK you want to continue to post here then post here, only please do not cry, baby, OK? And please, please do not report me as a vandal for removing your posts from my own talk page as you did last time. I do not care, if you do, but I am very concerned that, if you continue to report editors as vandals for removing messages from their own talk page even more wikipedia readers will realize how laughable some wikipedians are, and will not make donations to the project.
BTW about trouble reading. Are you aware that the last time you reported me to an/i you made a false accusation (not something new for you) that lead to me being blocked by a willing admin? In this post you alleged, that I "immediately jumped in in an issue" after the interaction ban has expired , when in reality I commented on the post about you 6 months after the interaction ban ended. Are you going to learn to read?
BTW,if you are to continue to post to my talk page may I please ask you to make the colors of your signature somehow warmer. It hurts my eyes in its current appearance. --Mbz1 (talk) 01:44, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
Is that the best you can do? Bring up something I did over a year and half ago and haven't done since? Nice try, but it doesn't fly. I couldn't care less if your eyes are hurt, however, you aren't allowed to edit my posts, so you're going to have to deal with it. I am well aware of that the editing restriction ended, but it seems you have forgotten that Prod told you to stay away from me. And no, I made no 'false accusation'; you did immediately jump into a matter which did not involve you in order to make a jab at me. Really. You're not fooling anyone with the continued denial that you did nothing wrong. Many saw it for what it was, and rightly blocked you. Buttttttttt, I'm not here to argue with your self-righteous crap. With your inability to admit you've done something wrong. I'm here because you again decided to try and stir the pot by baiting me.
If you want me to leave, you're going to have to grow up and learn to drop something, instead of being petty to someone you clearly don't get along with. The adult thing to do would be to, as already noted, drop it and get on with your life.
Can you drop it? Are you incapable of letting go? Prove me wrong and do so.— dαlus+ Contribs 01:52, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Oh, and I love that 'baby' insult, when you're the one here being petty, and bringing up crap that is years gone past. Nice try, but no. That isn't how life works.— dαlus+ Contribs 01:53, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
OK, now I see you have difficulties not only with the reading, but with counting too - a really hopeless case D: Anyway, if you want to continue to use my talk page for your ranting, please do.BTW you might be interested to know that by my request the block and the bans were reviewed by administrator AGK, who found neither to be warranted. In his review administrator AGK also said: "The initial AE thread related to Daedalus' conduct and the value of his wider presence on Wikipedia. Your input as an editor who had had negative interactions with Daedalus was of value. Daedalus' complaint about your comment, presuming that my assumption in point #4 is correct, was therefore without merit."
I guess I am not going to respond to you anymore. I have more interesting things to do, or better yet I will archive your ranting. Goodbye.

AGK is one person, and their word is by no mean's 'god's' word. Are you really going to evade? What is so hard about dropping it? You obviously don't get along with me, so why don't you try acting your age for once and dropping it?— dαlus+ Contribs 02:37, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

--Mbz1 (talk) 02:12, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Let's just get it out in writing, since you seem to just love evading

I will agree to leave you alone, if you agree to leave me alone. Deal?

Thanks for the inspiration!

Hey there! I saw your article, Dead Women Crossing, Oklahoma, on DYK a while back. My goal this summer has been to write six short plays, and your article proved to be an intriguing basis for the first of six that I wrote, aptly titled Dead Women Crossing. It turned out to be an exciting mystery, and though I changed many of the details and, in fact, assigned the blame for the crime to someone other than the person to whom the article assigned it, it still proved a very solid and mysterious basis in fact. I just wanted to give you props for starting the article that inspired this one-act. Thanks so much, and keep it up! BobAmnertiopsisChatMe! 03:11, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Congratulations

Congratulations on getting today's feature picture on the main page. I'm also sorry to see that you've allowed the bullies push you into despair to leave the project. You are a valued editor and have contributed more in several days than they have since they registered. I understand that you are leaving the project because of trolls and administrators that are acting on their behalf. I'm hoping to see you back when you are ready. --Shuki (talk) 06:19, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for kind words, Shuki! Actually I was going to leave the project for quite some time because I am busy in real life, and not because of trolls and wikihounds. Leaving the project because of trolls and their pet administrators acting on their requests means allow them to win. It is not for me. But you are right about trolls taking over the project. In June of 2005 RickK, who I believe was an administrator had this to say: "There is a fatal flaw in the system. Vandals, trolls and malactors are given respect, whereas those who are here to actually create an encyclopedia, and to do meaningful work, are slapped in the face and not given the support needed to do the work they need to do." It is sad that now in July of 2011 (6 years after it was said) I could sign under each statement RickK made. I also could sign under this comment that definitely is true concerning quite a few administrators: "The way you dish out blocks is worse than any admin I've ever seen, but you cannot or will not accept that there is a problem. You lack the judgement, and the thickness of skin, to do the job properly; you lack the compassion, humanity and humility to admit it when you fuck up". OK, I guess I'd better stop here :-) Best wishes, and happy editing to you,Shuki.--Mbz1 (talk) 17:47, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for "compassion, humanity and humility"! I makes me sad to see the best leaving. Looks like I could have written my essay on "rejected" also for you, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:05, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for kind words,Gerda. I've just read some editor's contributions, and it made me sad seeing such interesting content contributor got so desperate that they decided to leave. It was very kind of you,Gerda, to be there for this person, when they needed some words of support. Best wishes, and happy editing.--Mbz1 (talk) 13:05, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Marvellous photos of natural optical phenomena

I just want to express my sincere gratitude to Mbz1 for making these fantastic photos of spectacular natural optical phenomena publicly available. I used her photos in two of my research papers published in professional scientific journals:

Mishchenko, M. I., 2009: Gustav Mie and the fundamental concept of electromagnetic scattering by particles: a perspective, J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transfer 110, 1210-1222

Mishchenko, M. I., and L. D. Travis, 2008: Gustav Mie and the evolving discipline of electromagnetic scattering by particles, Bull. Amer. Meteorol. Soc. 89, 1853-1861

In both cases Mbz1's photos served as vivid illustrations of profound physical laws controlling the interaction of light with small cloud particles suspended in air. I hope Mbz1 will continue to make such photos and post them on the web -- this is a great service to both professional scientists, amateur researchers, and all admirers of nature.

Thank you for the kind words.Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 10:59, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for the funniest MfD I've ever got, and for making fun of me :-) I like to laugh even, if the subject is myself, and I mean it. Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 13:22, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
I'd hardly call it making fun of you when you requested the block yourself by email... Nikthestoned 11:45, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
It's OK. I really do not mind, if somebody making fun of myself. As a matter of fact I am the first one to make fun of myself, and it is funny that an editor who is blocked indefinitely was not able to follow her own simple instructions :-) in order not to get blocked :-) Besides no matter of the outcome of this MfD I am having a great time with this. First of all during the three days it was nominated it got many more views than it got during its prior lifespan (so my work did not go down in vain :-)), second of all I am really enjoying some laughable arguments of two File:TrollFace.svg (I hope they recognize themselves in these pictures :-) ), so thanks to you I am having a good time all around with this MfD. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 16:00, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
