VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. nForce 3 250

Not necessarily. 100 Mbps Ethernet controller doesn't have to be included in chipset or motherboard. So nForce3 model 250 that I have (Epox 8KDA3I) comes with 100 Mbps Ethernet and hardware firewall. Some versions (motherboards) don't have firewall, some don't have even ethernet.

Filipino hip hop - suggesting that the pillage be slowed.

I'm suggesting that we slow down a little, to give the regular contributors time to adjust. They don't appear to have had much feedback from a wider audience, and there's really no rush to clean it up. This was starting to turn into a pile-on, and that's no fun for the guy in the receiving end. Heck, up to now he'd been hearing that he was doing a great job. So, I'm backing down from my normal "chainsaw and napalm" routine.

There were a few dozen copyright violation problems with the article which have since been resolved, namely the 16 audio "samples", some of which were well over two minutes in length! From what I understand, ASCAP, BMI, and other agencies do not recognize anything longer than 30 seconds as brief, and do not qualify as fair use. User page rendering

FYI, your user page renders pretty crazily in Opera. The boxes on the left overlap the table in the middle(ish). Wrapping the table in a div that starts with <div style="float:right;"> and the bit with the boxes in a plain div seems to make it render more consistently, though I can't test it in a bunch of browsers right now. Sources are not proof, sources are sources. I wish we were supposed to prove things. That would be better. WP policy is about sources. In this case, the sources are FEMA, which admits molten metal pouring out of WTC before collapse. NY Times which reported structural engineers observing steel beams partly evaporated, and various structural engineers who reported observing molten metal flowing and in pools, and dripping off the ends of beams. Have you not seen all this? Promise me that if I link you to these things, you will use your amazing bot powers to include them in various articles. You have god like powers, and I bow down to you.

Can you explain a little about how your AWB editing process checks for sensible context? Is it all manual? Here's an example..... Oh, I see you left a note on the user's talk page. In case you're not aware, using something like VandalTool (that makes your edit summaries for you) to make reverts generally implies that the reverted edit was vandalism. It would have been more appropriate to have your explanation in the edit summary. It doesn't look like you're an new editor, so I don't want to insult you by explaining what an edit summary is, etc. : ) Check out Category:Current events and Template_talk:Current. Answer to your question

In answer to your question, we were told that all references to John and the magazine would be removed. We discovered that this page still remains on Ami's Archive. Please be so kind as to remove this page or delete the title and name headings as was done in the other instances. You know the history is still there if you need it. At this point this insignificant verbiage does not serve anyone. I don't understand what the point was for the name change; particularly since the link to the pseudonym is now posted online? This doesn't make any sense.

Yeah. The suspicion surrounded unregistered users has grown during the 3+ years I've been contributing. It's a shame really, but it's understandable, since with the growth in the number of English language articles there's been a increase in Wikipedia's profile and a corresponding increase in vandalism. the fuzzy alliance

the edit you reverted was permitted by the original author of the article amasian/amasian08. if you wish to confirm this ask him if leo had permission to edit his article. also on amasian's behalf the article should not be deleted for two main reasons, firstly that it is not finished, and wont be for a few more days most likely. Secondly because the topic to which it pertains was origanally a local phenomenon, but is currently spanning two contenents, and is becomming fairly well known in the upstate New York region. True the topic may be small compared to other's. but i do not see where it has any less importance than many other articles that feature only a sentence or two about flash films to sexual positions, which are granted longevity in Wikipedia.

Don't feel bad, in reality I'm actually a pretty horrible speller, too! =D. I suggest you use the Google toolbar, which includes a great spellchecker in with your browser. No need to launch Word for just spellchecking! About English: Wikipedia uses either, but the whole article must use the same. Taglit-birthright israel page

You removed my edits on the "Taglit-birthright israel page" - the "b" and the "i" in birthright israel are supposed to be lower case and I was trying to correct it on Wikipedia. I'm often prolix to the point of anaesthesia, so I'll try to be succint: Be nicer. You're often right, but a bit too pithy. It may sound funny when you're saying "analyy raped" or something to yourself, but people tend to read things in the worst way that they possibly can. Hi there, I noticed back in May you attempted to contact the systen administrator of that IP, which can be seen here. I just came across it and I can tell you that, based on my personal experiences with that particular school system, they are going to be completely unhelpful with you anyway. I have had fmaily work for that school system in the past, and I live close by to that system. They have been under poor management for many years now. While I do not wish to get invloved in abuse reports as of right now, I have blocked the Ip for at least six months, requiring that an authorized represenative contact me if they desire the block to be lifted. Broke the Tatmadaw article

The problem you most likely faced regarding the Tatmadaw article was that I have converted images in Wikipedia articles that contain images to display Burmese text to Unicode text, in order to begin creating a standardised system for Burmese-related articles. By using Unicode, if spelling errors (in Burmese) are found, users who know the subject well could correct the spelling, whereas with images, it would be difficult to do so. Try installing a Burmese Unicode font ([8]). Perhaps this template (Template:Burmese characters) will help. Hintha 02:43, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Your userboxes

I've just noticed two small problems with your userboxes (apart from not working in IE, which I expect you already knew).

• There are <includeonly> tags around the category in the atheist userbox. (This seems to happen sometimes with GUS userboxes; I'm not yet sure why.) As a result, you aren't included in the relevant category; removing these tags will add you back into the category.
• The omnivore userbox has been GUS-userfied and can now be found at {{User:Djr xi/User Omnivore}} (at present it's showing a warning).

Semi-bot. User:Mboverload/AWB explains what I'm doing, but it uses the "old list". I haven't yet written anything (other than this post right now) about the latest correction list yet. It will take a few weeks before I complete the various painstaking tasks - I just finished with the base words beginning with "A" =P It's "next-gen" in a limited way - It should be capable of matching over 50,000 varients and correcting them (in theory, I haven't done any real number crunching) Other tools use a very limited list of words. Thank you so much. I should have used that as a rebuttal, but I guess I was afraid that me posting it would just be seen as an RfA grasping for straws. Maybe I should have been more assertive THIS time. =D I really don't want to wait 3 months for my next RfA, that's going to kill me =( but I even have hope that maybe the people who voted oppose don't skip out after they voted, and come back to see the new discussion in my favor. =(

I respect strongly the rule against spamming for consensus, but of course I wish I could do something like that. In a perfect situation people check in on the RfAs they have voted for to look at new discussion or evidence. However, that is rarely the case. Minor edits

Hi. I noticed that what you flag as minor edits aren't so, like this and especially this. I would suggest you disable the "flag edits as minor" preference, or otherwise supervise more carefully when that minor button is checked or not. AN/I

I've noticed that some of your posts on AN/I are mostly dealing with content disputes. While I agree that the Wiki-star drama had been going on for far too long, please remember that AN/I is for reporting incidents that must be dealt with by administrators. Thanks, I will keep your comments close to mind in any future actions. As I said in my report about wikistar, I tried 3 different IRC channels and found 2 admins. Both were unwilling to take action, hehe (one said he was too lazy, the other one only does unblocking and unprotecting). I am very aware about the content dispute thing. However, since wikistar was blocked I think it may have earned its place on ANI.

Also, for the verifyability problem I wasn't sure if I should post it on AN or AN/I. I decided on AN/I since admins needed to comment on what our policies were, not the actual content dispute, but I do see your point.
