[edit]I see you deleted my entry on Michael. He is an active figure in the community, and has done well. Drexel Alumni: Pearlstein
[edit]I noticed that you added Leonard Pearlstein to the list of Drexel University alumni. I'm happy that you're contributing, however the articles that you cited don't actually say that he was an alumni, only that he was a contributer and that the gallery is named after him. In fact I can't find any source saying that he's an actual alumni. If you can then you're welcome to add it, or if you need help adding it just give me the link to the source and I can show you how to add the reference, but if you can't find a reliable source that says that Pearlstein attended Drexel then it will be removed. --TexasDex ★ 03:19, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Glad to hear you've got that straightened out. Thank you for doing the work, and let me know if you need any help with the article. --TexasDex ★ 03:14, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Roads of the state highway level and above are generally agreed to be inherently notable. See User:Scott5114/Highway notability FAQ. —Scott5114↗ [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 01:37, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- Basically, yes, because there are thousands (millions?) of roads in Kansas alone, and this is one of the comparatively few (~300?) that KDOT singled out to get one of those designations. Having a designation is sort of a big deal. State highways get extra signage and maintenance furnished by the state DOT and funded by the state government's tax dollars, which allow for a higher standard of quality than a county or city road. State highways also meet WP:Notability because they're the subject of many available sources: DOT records, maps, and so on... and you can say a lot about the highway too, even short ones; see Oklahoma State Highway 156, Oklahoma State Highway 74, Kansas Turnpike for an idea of what is possible for road articles. —Scott5114↗ [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 01:47, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, you
[edit]I'm the person that started the Higher Education in British Columbia as an assignment for my class. I realize Wiki is a public thing and anyone can edit and whatever, but what you did has really caused problems for me with regards to my assignment. I just wanted to let you know that I'll be uploading a final version in order to be graded so what you posted will likely be deleted, but I understand from a Wikipedia administrator you can reverse what I did, but I ask you to wait until June 11. Thank you. (Dawnalee8 (talk) 21:05, 2 June 2008 (UTC))
- Oh, I agree with you neither I or my professor understand Wikipedia. I was actually against using it for the class project, but no, that's not the way the prof wanted to do things. I think the prof will re-think how things are done for future assignments when this course is taught again to a different set of students. Thanks for understanding though. Cheers. Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for Image:The DAC Pack.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:The DAC Pack.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 01:08, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Broadway world logo.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Broadway world logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:42, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. I noticed today that you were doing newpages patrolling but are not marking some of the pages you visit as patrolled. Speedy tagging
[edit]Hi. I noticed that you tagged this article Brett allely for deletion. It was created only 2 minutes before, and it really is a good idea to give people a bit more time to figure out how to edit here before you tag articles for deletion. Tagging new articles too fast can be quite bitey as I am sure you understand. Keep up the good work though! --Slp1 (talk) 03:21, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- I don't recall that page in particular, but in general I feel like people should develop their new pages within a sandbox and then once the page is at least a stub, they can post it to article space. Having the page be created and garbage is not good practice, in my opinion. --Mblumber (talk) 03:40, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- You are right that it is probably a good idea to prepare something in a sandbox first, but unfortunately not all newbies know or realize this. And of course it is only a good idea because some people are very quick to tag/delete articles rather than giving an editor a chance to improve their first save. That's why waiting a while to post speedy tags on articles is a good idea. Some people suggest starting at the bottom of the newpages list rather than the top for precisely these reasons. Obviously an article that already contains enough information to make a decision (an attack, test, utter nonsense) is a different matter. This particular article didn't consist of garbage, but instead some headings that were apparently going to be filled in by the editor. --Slp1 (talk) 23:23, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

As far as the separate article goes...
I think that's a good idea. I have removed list-type content from a number of articles based on the amount of time I was spending maintaining them. My experience is that those types of lists grow explosively and tend to attract spam and other unwanted material.
So yes, that is a fine solution. Take care. E_dog95' Hi ' 02:32, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the work on the FratMember template
[edit]Thank you for the work on the FratMember template, being able to bring the images into the same structure with the entries appears *very* useful. Now, since I would like ice cream on my free apple pie :), is there any way that we can get the images evenly distributed vertically within the text section that they are associated with? My guess that should be discussed before being put in, I'm just curious as to whether it would be possible and your opinion. Naraht (talk) 14:22, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- That's a great question. I've never seen it done before, and with my knowledge of HTML I believe that it would be quite difficult. The issue here is that these pages render different on different browsers. So if we made it evenly spaced on my screen it would most likely look different for you. I'll look into it though, because it would be very nice to have. --Mblumber (talk) 14:28, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

X support for X during the Iran-Iraq war
[edit]Are you aware that several other pages exist, such as Soviet support for Iraq during the Iran–Iraq war? See the table on International aid to combatants in the Iran–Iraq War for a complete list. I have also responded on the Noticboard. Dynablaster (talk) 23:39, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- I see. Well I would say that a majority of those articles also have NPOV issues. I'm not trying to cause trouble, but it just feels to me like these sort of articles don't belong in an encyclopedia. --Mblumber (talk) 00:19, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- The topic is notable. So too the Iran-Iraq War. You should nominate all pages for deletion if you feel they don't belong. I'm going to remove the tag from the U.S. support page but leave the Iraqgate with a template, so other users can expand it. Dynablaster (talk) 00:41, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- I certainly agree that the topic is notable, because there's clearly a lot of international coverage. Let's just see a more balanced article rather than an opinion piece, and we're all good. --Mblumber (talk) 03:44, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Betty Brown Article
[edit]It's a work in progress, but it definitely meets Wikipedia standards for notability. Her remarks have indeed been very controversial and have genuinely ignited protests from Asian American organizations all over the country.
