Russian Wikipedia: Shrimp
[edit]While I am trying to solve that password problem, you can add the following to the discussion in the Russian Wikipedia:
I hope this helps you!--Crustaceanguy (talk) 22:47, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for your help! I hope you resolve your password problems, because your contributions into Russian Wikipedia are very valuable. By the way, as far as I understand, the initial question was how is prawn best translated into Russian, and from your comment here I understand that пильчатые креветки is not the correct translation (because prawn, as far as I understand, is Dendrobranchiata). Does your source mention any Russian name for Dendrobranchiata? --Maxxicum (talk) 23:14, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- What I meant was that according to the book, "пильчатые креветки" is the Russian name for the suborder Dendrobranchiata (because the genus Penaeus belongs to the suborder Dendrobranchiata). Although this *is* a correct name (especially since most prawns have a long rostrum with toothlike projections), it is not widely used among Russian biologists, probably because 20 to 30 years ago, true shrimps (Caridea) and prawns were included in the suborder Natantia ("swimming crustaceans"), but this group was paraphyletic and invalid.--Crustaceanguy (talk) 03:09, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Help with another AfD?
[edit]Based on your comments at Quiet Internet Pager it seems you understand Russian and are knowledgeable of Russian IT sources. You might also want to look at this AfD. Pcap ping 17:47, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Anycool, which you proposed for deletion, because the page you proposed for deletion was not an article. If you still think the page should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to it, as proposed deletion is only for articles. Instead, consider using WP:RFD for this page. In some cases, a speedy deletion criterion may apply. Thanks! Armbrust Talk Contribs 14:46, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
