Online counseling
[edit]Hey there!
As a student who is working on Wikipedia for class assignments, I would like to also welcome you as well!
The reason I reverted your edit on the page Online counseling is because your edit added content without citations, which can also be viewed as editorial bias and promotion to those websites. I am aware that was not your intent at all, which is why I am not going to be warning you for this. When you add content, make sure you follow the guidelines for adding content, and Citing your Sources when editing. If you have any questions, Ian most likely has a better answer than I can provide, so I recommend going to him for any questions you may have. Best, Zekerocks11 (talk) 18:38, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know! I have been assigned to add 500 words to any wikipedia page and to be honest I am still kind of learning how that works. Maxwellallen1235 (talk) 20:24, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
- Tell your teacher that you need to add only constructive and well sourced edits. — Moops ⋠T⋡ 20:36, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
- I have some advice for that.
- Find an article for something you are passionate about. Something like video games, medical areas, ect. still have articles there that need a lot of work. The key here is to find an article of something that you might know a lot about, and try and add things to it that aren't already there.
- Read over the article. Make sure that things you might want to add aren't already there.
- Make sure the things you want to add follow the WP:MOS (Manual of Style; the way an article of the type is supposed to look and is allowed to contain content that you want to add)
- DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! Make sure everything you do is within guidelines. Anything you might add needs to be properly referenced, and has to follow all guidelines. If you are ever unsure, just ask another editor, we are always here and happy to help if we have the knowledge to share
- I know Wikipedia might seem big and scary at first, but honestly, this place is like a small town or college. If you are truly passionate about the project, mistakes are always okay and acceptable in this world, as long as you learn from them and build from what you learn. Never be scared of asking for help. I know you'll do great here and it's all a learning curve at first. Hope this helps!
- P.S. if it all doesn't have to be on one page, then use that to your advantage and make small, constructive and well sourced edits to multiple pages.
- I wish you well! Zekerocks11 (talk) 20:39, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
