Nuclear Hurricane May
[edit]I asked
a question above about hurricanes got me thinking... what if a couple of nukes were dropped or detonated on a hurricane. the awnsers above stated that the hurricane wouldnt be dissapate, so there for would that mean that instead of having just a regular old hurricane comming our way, it would be a hurricane with nuclear fallout bearing down on us? and if thats the case wouldnt this be used as another weapon of mass destruction? and *of course jokeing* would the rain glow as it falls to the ground? Another Radiation Question APR
[edit]I Asked
Yep here i go again. i think some of this should be included in the articles anyways. How much of your body has to be exposed to Leathal radiation? in other words will radiation be lethal if it only your finger is exposed to the leathal dose? will your finger be the only thing to fall off? <(maybe a bit to extream there) and can you save yourself if you cut your finger off? thanks again guys User:Maverick423If It Looks Good • Nuke It 16:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Nuclear Shelter
[edit]I Asked
hey guys well i was checking out some stuff about nuclear shelters however i want to know what kind of walls will make it 100% radiation proof? besides that, is it logical to have a window in one? wont radiation go in through a window? and if not then how will a person inside it be able to renew the air already inside so as to not sufficate? Nuclear Attack on polar regions
[edit]Someone Asked Hi, What would happen if someone were to launch a nuclear attack on one of the polar ice caps? Would it accelerate global warming? Would it raise the sea level? How big would it have to be to destroy the whole ice cap?
- Just hypothetically speaking, of course, eh? Aaadddaaammm 09:54, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Half-life MAR
[edit]Someone Asked
Stupid question, but does half-life mean that if something has a half-life of say 5 days, is the product entirely gone after 10 days, or is is half of the remaining half gone - 75% after 10 days? Jack Daw 23:24, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Great question i always wondered this too. so technicly if radio active decay with a half life of 1 year was left alone for 1000 years there would still be a trace of the decay right? this was so confusing in science classes. oo and also to add to this lets say a barrel was filled to the top with the same substance and left for one year when you opened it again would it be half full or does that work diffently?Maverick423 01:06, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Magnets and heat
[edit]I asked
Hey i recall going to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago and in it they stated that magnets can also loose their magnitisem with heat temporarly. but in the article it doesnt state that the magnet can regain its magnetism or if it can permenatly lose it. so i ask what is the max tempreture (if any) that a powerful permenate magnet can endure before losing its magnetism completly.Maverick423 16:32, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

End of humanity, as we know it FEB
[edit]Someone Asked
Hey guys, just some morbid curiosity here, If a nuclear war were to occur, what are the chances of the human race carrying on? I understand that any survivors (if there were any) would have a totally different lifestyle, but could anyone actually carry the species on, or would the number of survivors be so few that we would be functionally extinct? If nuclear war were to occur, what would survivors eat and drink? Important officials (eg. the president of the USA) may be safe in their bunkers, but how long would they have to remain down there? If longer than a few human generations, how many would have to enter the bunker to make a viable 're-population program' to repopulate the earth without inbreeding. In other words what number of a species do you need to make a gene pool large enough? Thanks, in advance, for any replies,

Poison question
[edit](not Radioactive related)[8]
Radioactive poisoning and possible cures JAN
[edit]someone asked
Dear Sir/Madam
Please name some radioactive isotopes that if consumed can poison and kill a person?
Also, are there any possible or hypothetical cures for radioactive poisoning?
Please submit an answer as soon as possible as it is for a school research project and the deadline approaching fast!
Thank You 222.165.183.45 13:00, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Energy and Radiation
[edit]Someone Asked
If a hydrogen bomb where to be set off in a tube that could magnetically confine the blast and exit it out behind the tube all except of course the neutrons then how much energy would be needed. Second how much shielding would I need to trap most of the escaping neutrons?67.125.158.217 01:12, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

request information on radiation posion
[edit]I asked
Hey guys
well basicly I want to make a request on radiation Poison
i have read the articles however there is one problem yes the symptoms are stated and all but does anyone know how it FEELS to be in the proximity of radiation or to touch something radio active. in other words do you feel heat from something radio active? do you feel a weird nausia feeling while you are reciving a radio active dose (regardless of its potency) what does a person feel before the symptoms arise and when you are acctually reciveing the dose is what i want to knowMaverick423 19:06, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
