I'm about to add additional pieces of information to the article, based on the items you mentioned in your list. Thanks that you will add the material om his education and that you will take care for the wording. Sorry, I cannot understand why you consider the material I added as widely inappropriate. I listed some of the most important scientific prizes such as the Linus Pauling prize in nutrition; furthermore, for most of the prizes I added which organization awarded these. These prizes simply stress the importance of his contributions to the field of vitamin D research. This article is about to be improved and you are welcome to help doing that. I will add which books he wrote, maybe you can help with adding the full bibliographic format for the case I don't do it 100% correctly. That would be very helpful. by Matthias3110

Status and Advice

[edit]

Please add only the following additional information:

  1. A list of his books, in full formal bibliographic format, with references to the WorldCat record for the item.
  2. .His four or five most highly cited papers, of which he is the principal author, giving the citation figures, sourced to Science citation index. Just the few most cited.
  3. .Additionally, if you have a photograph for which you have a free license according to the requirements, and can say so appropriately on the upload page, you can add that. The caption should be just his name.
  4. .For each prize, write out the name of the organization giving it, and link to our article on them. If we do not have an article on them, the prize is probably not important, and should be removed. In each case, make certain that the prize you list is the highest level national honor awarded by the society. If not, remove it.
  5. I will add the material on his education in the proper form, Don't add it yourself.
  6. I will then take care of the wording.
  7. Please don't add anything else at all. The wildly inappropriate material you previously added came very near getting the article deleted. DGG ( talk ) 16:08, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Vit D

[edit]

Its level is not routinely measured. And a 1972 ref would not support current practice. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:11, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello DocJames, the 25OH-Vitamin D level is not meassured routinely in all patients, but it's routinely meassured TO DETERMINE A PATIENT'S VITAMIN D STATUS; but you're right, the references were not correct, I put the 1972 reference directly behind the information that he identified 25-OH-Vitamin D and added another citation which supports the statement, that 25-OH-Vitamin D is routinely meassured to asses the vitamin d status. Thanks for that hint. --Matthias3110 (talk) 19:06, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As "routinely" sounded ambigous in that context, I used different words to describe, that 25-OH-vitamin D is the vitamin d metabolite that is meassured to assess the nutritional status. --Matthias3110 (talk) 22:50, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure you can mention him for both but write it so that his name is written only once. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 23:37, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Michael F. Holick - Photo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Michael F. Holick - Photo.jpg, which you've sourced to apparently the subject, see note. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 03:17, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've contacted Dr. Holick and sent him the consent form and told him which adress he should send the form to. He will take care of consenting with the license in the next days. Thanks --Matthias3110 (talk) 13:38, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've added the permission template. I also added a mostly blank information template. Would you be so kind as to fill in at least the mandatory fields - description and author?--SPhilbrick(Talk) 18:44, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
