Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Soledad O'Brien. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You need references to reliable, independent sources to establish that the content you wish to add is relevant to the article in question. A youtube video proves the event occurred, but does not establish its relevance to the subject. Please stop.--Jayron32 03:41, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking the time to discuss. The issue isn't whether the interview itself occurred, or that the statements were made during the interview, but whether or not the interview itself is relevant to the article at Wikipedia. O'Brien has given thousands of interviews in her career, and to highlight one of them shows undue attention to such an interview: if that interview is so important to highlight, then other reliable sources will say so; they will discuss the interview you are trying to highlight in the article to a similar level of detail, and give it the importance you are. If not, then it is just another interview she has given which has passed without much attention, and for the Wikipedia article to highlight something no one else does would represent an unbalanced sort of coverage. The issue is not what occurred, but whether or not including what occurred is justified in being included in the article. Does that make sense? --Jayron32 13:57, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
It does make sense Jayron. I guess I was attempting to underscore the "unbiased" critique that currently appears on her Wikipedia page. The parallels seem quite compelling as they both reflect cases whereby she appears to show blatant favoritism and also caught regurgitating web blogs, talking points and Wikipedia definitions. I felt very strongly about my post, and feel that there is room for at least ONE more critique, but your comments are well received. I only wish Soledad was as judicious in her reporting as YOU are with her Wikipedia page.
