Proposed deletion of Athletics at the 1960 Summer Olympics - Men's 100 metres
[edit]The article Athletics at the 1960 Summer Olympics - Men's 100 metres has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Why do we need an article for this?
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Pmlineditor Talk 11:22, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Matis Song
- Hey MatisSong, some friendly advice from a proposed deletion patroller: What's happening here is that currently Athletics at the 1960 Summer Olympics - Men's 100 metres has little content not already handled at the main article. I see you're also the primary writer of Athletics at the 1960 Summer Olympics - Men's marathon, so you know how to make the results tables and such that make this a more useful article. I'd say you could remove the {{dated prod}} tag at the top of the article once you come back to continue work on it, because as you said these articles are common practice for the Olympics. In the future, you may wish to consider using {{underconstruction}} on new articles you're actively working on, or start an article in your own user space and move it to the article namespace once it's ready. This will help avoid attempts to delete incomplete articles in the future. If you have any questions feel free to ask on my talk page or at Wikipedia:Help desk. Thanks for your contributions, and happy editing! BryanG (talk) 21:39, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
