I redirected the page you started Military: Past and Present to Military history. I think you should work on preexisting articles before diving in. Check out Category:Military history for related articles before starting new ones.
Again, welcome! NickelShoe (Talk) 04:25, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Military: Past and Present, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit]I would have to agree with what Nickelshoe said above; I believe the content you're adding is similar to what is already on Wikipedia. You might want to check out what is already here and then see what additions need to be made. SUBWAYguy 05:37, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- I got your reply; Wikipedia might not be the best place for what you have in mind. Please see WP:NOT#WEBSPACE and WP:NOT#PUBLISHER. SUBWAYguy 05:44, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Question?
[edit]- moved from Wikipedia talk:Contact us
Is ot possible to work on an article without actually posting it until you are finished with it? Matejo360 16:54, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
P.S. one of my articles is being deleted and it says redundant, what do i do, because im new to this.
- First, Wikipedia talk:Contact us is not a place to contact others. I would suggest reading the Contact us page to determine where you should have asked your question. Now, on to your question. You can edit for as long as you want before posting your content, and you can use the "Show preview" button to see what it will look like before posting it. If you are going to be working on something for a period of days, I'd you work on the article in a subpage of your userpage, such as User:Matejo360/Sandbox, and then move the page to the desired location when it's done. As for your article which is up for deletion, I assume you mean Military: Past and Present. Wikipedia already has many articles about military topics, many of which overlap with what it appears you are planning to write (thus, redundant). It would appear to me that you would be happier with a Wiki of you own, such as what you can start at a wiki-farm like Wiki-Site. Contact me on my talk page if you have any additional questions. timrem 17:11, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Redirects
[edit]Did you figure out your trouble with redirects? Redirects are designed to take you from one title to another. You might want to read Wikipedia:Redirect. It looks like you figured it out, but if you ever need to edit a redirect (say to change its target or to turn it into its own article), when you get taken to the other page, there'll be the redirect title in small letters under the target title. You can click on that to edit the redirect. NickelShoe (Talk) 17:19, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
