Welcome!
[edit]Hello! I saw you pop up on one of the pages I watch, and your username reminded me of an old favorite of mine, Treasure of Matecumbe. I like your work so far, and like the choice of name! Cheers :) Doc talk 08:12, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- That is the movie that inspired the username! Matecumbe (talk) 02:27, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
Jane Fonda
[edit]You added some links to Laurel Awards to Jane Fonda. She is not mentioned in the wikilink you provided and you provided no references. I checked a bit in IMDb, which is itself not a reliable source since contributions to it are not fact-checked, and some of the entries you added do not appear there, others were nomination rather than award. Please do not add unsourced information to Wikipedia. I have removed those links again. You are welcome to restore them, corrected as necessary, provided each is accompanied by a reliable source. You should update the Laurel Awards article too if you are going to link to it: currently it is not relevant. --Mirokado (talk) 02:59, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- The page for the Laurel Awards is a halfway effort and only mentions bit pieces of information on certain categories. That page is not thorough. On the IMDb awards page, 2nd place is considered a win and not a nomination. For 3rd place and below, it is considered a nomination. -Matecumbe (talk) 06:29, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. About the Laurel Awards article, at the very least it should list each award category, there would be no particular need for a complete listing of every winner, although that would do no harm. At present, it does not even confirm that there was a Laurel Award for comedy (I'm not doubting that, just pointing out that it takes anyone far to long to verify it). About the IMDb page, where does the subtlety about "second place being a win" come from? The IMDb pages I have looked at mention only one winner in each category. What you are saying may well be correct, but you need to provide the reliable sources from which you are taking the information. Also, Jane does not appear at all in the IMDb page for 1962. --Mirokado (talk) 11:15, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
