American English vs. British English
[edit]Hi! I noticed your edit to The Covenant, and noticed a change in the spelling of colored. You may want to read Wikipedia's policy on regional spelling differences. In this case, I believe that American English should be used. Happy editing! (P.S.: I've recently discovered the joy of Userboxes. You should add a few :) I mean, crap, you have like 900 edits. ) --DevastatorIIC 02:02, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- This merits revisiting. You recently changed the spelling of honor to British spelling in the article for the American series Castle. While that spelling may be your preference, only American spelling should be used in articles about American TV shows. Drmargi (talk) 09:24, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Blanking
[edit]Please do not blank pages as you did to World of Starcraft. In this case, you should have proposed a deletion at Wikipedia:Redirects for deletion. Thanks. --Zoz (t) 09:34, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. Just keep in mind that blanking a page will not delete it, so if you actually want a page deleted, just nominate it for RfD, AfD, etc. (by the way, it's currently up for deletion here). Happy editing. Regards, Zoz (t) 18:06, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]My apologies, I've never heard the phrase nor clicked on the link, so I assumed it was vandalism. Thanks for alerting me, because I would have warned somebody else in the future again. Happy editing. --Nehrams2020 17:02, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the Descent³ page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. I would also like to question your knowledge on Descent and Descent: FreeSpace, as well as their relations. From your actions, it can be hypothesised that you do not know much. -- Altiris Exeunt 14:11, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
No worries over there...
Altiris Exeunt has smiled at you! Smiles promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by smiling to someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Happy editing!
Smile at others by adding {{subst:Smile}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
Well, we all have our flaws, and after reviewing my message, I realised that I went too far back there. Sorry about that. "Exam stress" is not a valid reason, so there are no excuses on my part. I do agree with you that it can be confusing at times. -- Altiris Exeunt 14:53, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:SlaveZero.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:SlaveZero.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:20, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

speciesism
[edit]Your recent edit at speciesism, although technically correct, is one that I think is misplaced. While it is true that many believe non-human animals to be sapient, I do not think that the place where you put this information is suitable.
The sentence in question is at the very beginning, and is supposed to be a quick overview of what speciesism is. It says: "...morally wrong to regard animals (which many people believe are [sentient/sapient] beings)". I believe the key point for the purposes of an overview is not that animals are sapient, but that they are sentient at all. While it is true that many believe animals to be sapient, this is NOT key to the charge of speciesism as a whole, because even if animals were not sapient, they might still be sentient, and the charge of speciesism would still hold.
Since sentience rather than sapience is the lesser (and arguably a more sufficient) condition, I strongly feel that this opening sentence should refer to sentience instead. However, I would be happy to introduce the term 'sapience' elsewhere within the article. Should you dispute this, please let me know, and we can discuss it on the speciesism talk page. — Eric Herboso 15:19, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Independence Day discussion page
[edit]Hello there. I was just curious as to why you undid the "strikeout" of some text from a post I left on Talk:Independence Day (film). I had originally crossed it out because it referred a post that was also on the page that was along the lines of "hay wut kind of plains do army fly and navy fly in the movie". That post has since been deleted, which is why I had crossed it out. And, if you look at the dates, it is not referring to a post on there now asking about what kind of plane was used to film the Grand Canyon point-of-view scenes. Looking at the line now, I would imagine it's best to remove it altogether, but I came here to ask why you think it might still need to remain there. Thanks. - SoSaysChappy (talk) 21:21, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- It's cool. I need to go ahead and just delete it anyway. Happy editing. - SoSaysChappy (talk) 23:56, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Eggcorn
[edit]Hi there,
I reverted your edits to Eggcorn ([1]), as after you changed the sentence it was no longer supported by the cited reference. You need to make sure you don't leave an article looking as though a reference supports a statement that it doesn't.
Thanks, Adrian J. Hunter(talk•contribs) 03:48, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
I wonder why you removed the plot tag in the article, without giving an edit summary or fixing the problem: the plot summary is obviously excessive. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 17:42, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

The Saboteur move
[edit]Hi, you recently moved The Saboteur (2009 video game) to The Saboteur by cut and paste move. This is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. If an article can't be moved by the "Move" tab at the top of the page, please use WP:RM to request a move to the new title. --Muchness (talk) 23:06, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Recent edit to Machiavellianism
[edit]In a recent edit to this article you stated that The Prince is a work of fiction, and that it's satirical nature is not often understood. I reverted this because The Prince is a treatise, whereas a work of fiction tells a story with characters and a plot, which this work clearly does not do. Furthermore, whether or not it is a satire is debatable, so this statement violates WP:NPOV.--Smcg8374 (talk) 08:27, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
The New 52
[edit]Please do not add your personal viewpoints or arguments in an attempt to undermine the viewpoint found in a cited source, as you did last October with these edits to The New 52. The focus of Andrew Wheeler's observation was on the level of diversity effected by the reversal of Gordon's paralysis, and not its plausibility. Adding an argument intended to undermine the viewpoint a source, one that the source obviously did not include himself, is a violation of WP:V and WP:NPOV. Thank you. Copyright problem removed
[edit]Hello. Content you added to List of Skylanders characters seems to have duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material seems to have been copied from http://www.skylanders.com/characters/jet-vac and other pages within the official source. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences or phrases. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. If you have any questions about them, you are welcome to come by my talk page. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 01:03, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for your note, and I'm glad you didn't copy from the site. I'm afraid, however, that it does mean the copyright problem is a different one. :)
- Content on Wikipedia is no more public domain that is on most other websites. It is liberally licensed, but it is a violation of copyright to copy content from one article to another without meeting the terms of the license.
- This is an easily repaired problem. I will fix this one, but if you have copied content that you did not author solely from any other articles on Wikipedia, please make sure to go back and provide attribution as described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. If you have any questions on how this is done, please let me know. I'm happy to explain. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:16, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- You can see here the attribution I've provided, and here and Talk:Characters of Spyro the Dragon the templates at the top of the page. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:24, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Edthesock.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Edthesock.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. [edit]Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Earthsiege / Hunter Hunted
[edit]Sierra spent some time trying to shoehorn all of their science-fiction games into the Earthsiege universe. Cyberstorm is strange enough, but Hunter Hunted is definitely the oddest member of the family. IIRC, there are a few prerendered Mechs in Hunter Hunted that were created using art assets from Cyberstorm. Other than that, the only connection is some backstory in the Starsiege compendium which mentions the mysterious dark time a few hundred years ago when aliens may have invaded the Earth. The Starsiege lore further mentions a religion which worships a man named Jake Hunter as a god for rescuing Earth from the aliens. This is mentioned in brief in the Hunter Hunted article. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 14:20, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
