Writing for This Month in GLAM

Hello Masssly, I saw you wanted to start a section about Ghana in the newsletter This Month in GLAM. You are very welcome to do so. If you have events or activities in Ghana, please write about them! It is no problem if you want to write about earlier events and activities than this month. As the July edition is already published, you can't add a section about Ghana to that one, but you can add a section about Ghana to the August edition which is supposed to be published at the 7th of September. Greetings - Romaine (talk) 21:59, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi Romaine, I had a discussions with some members of the Ghana community at Wikimania and we have intention of rolling out some GLAM projects, which I would like to write about, I would mention it in in our mailing list to get feedback from the rest of the community.
Kind Regards.

You just created the first Dagbani wikipedia article. We can continue to improve it here in the incubator. Thanks.

New Articles can be started right from the main page.

@ User:Jaward, some help is needed here.
@ Enock, is there a way we can pull up a Latin character editor? how do you do it on the Ewe space.

Sadat thanks for helping :-) Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 06:36, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
Hi Masssly just saw this. Yes. How do you want it? →Enock4seth (talk) 10:43, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
@Enock, I mean characters such as Ԑ and "or" in the writing system.—Sadat (Masssly)TalkCEmail 11:18, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
@Masssly: For Windows, Mac and Android you can use Kasahorow Keyboard (Download and install). For Linux distro such as Ubuntu, you need not install anything. Is easy to do since most language keyboard layouts comes pre-installed. Hit me up if you want that of Ubuntu or any other Linux distro. Am preparing a PDF on that asap. Any further questions . →Enock4seth (talk) 13:11, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
@Enock4seth: Wonderful, that really helped. Thanks! —Sadat (Masssly)TalkCEmail 13:28, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Adding translated articles

By the way we are looking for more help in adding translated article to Wikipedia. All the ones listed in orange here still need work [1] Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 06:56, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

Sure Jmh649, I noticed that already. Presently we've assigned 1 article to every member whose volunteered to translate, we should be through with all of the articles in no time. I am having mark-up errors with referencing in the incubator, could you have a look at it here please. Thank you. —Sadat (Masssly)TalkCEmail 22:16, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
User:CFCF wondering if you can help out? This is one of the things I would love the WMF to help with. We need a base set of templates that work in all languages. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 22:21, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
User:Jmh649 I have compiled a list of templates that need to be installed for our project at: Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine/Translation task force/Integration guides/Localization. It isn't finished as I'm still working on it - and it will of course need to be expanded upon our translating of other articles than diseases.
My idea is to have a full guide, then asking a steward to install everything. Even better might be to get the WMF to do it automatically for all new Wikipedias. Unfortunately I haven't gotten to installing on the incubator yet, but have someone who has said they are willing to do it for me. Do we have any timeline on how long it takes to get off the incubator? -- CFCF 🍌 (email) 06:12, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
P.S. I recommend you install Mediawiki:Common.css first (must be done by an admin) and we can start from there, because that will allow for installation of all other templates and modules. -- CFCF 🍌 (email) 06:14, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
You mean install that on incubator? Or were User:CFCF Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 07:01, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
No, I mean it has to be done by a local administrator–I have no idea how it is done on the incubator. I asked around a bit, so hopefully I'll know soon. -- CFCF 🍌 (email) 09:44, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
