[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. I know that you have only reverted once, and as a new user I realize you may not be aware of our policies regarding edit warring. Since edit warring is usually a bright line offense, I wanted to let you know the possible results if you continue down this line. I agree with Mean as Custard that your edits were overly promotional, and have reverted you. Please let me know if you have any questions. Syrthiss (talk) 14:39, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- Since you said in your edit summary that you wanted productive comments - please do not use inline links such as whatever.com. If you are intending to reference statements like "The school is considered the top school for XYZ" you need to link as specifically to whatever supports that, not just to a websites' main page. The way you are doing it appears less like you are presenting information to support the material, and more like you are presenting links for people to purchase the books and such. My final note is this: I see that you have been again reverted by another editor and reverted them. You are now in violation of 3rr and may be blocked, tho I will not myself block you.
