Hi Urbanature, I got rid of the EPA bit because you are right - the application of check dams is widely used if not more heavily used outside of the United States. I cut back the materials section because a lot of the design considerations seemed to depend on each state's guidelines and i think it's better to just leave it as simple overview of the types of typical materials. I fleshed out the maintenance section and added limitations and advantages. I also tried to streamline my references page to make author's more visible instead of just links. I also took all the material that was on the page and wove it into the sections as to not fully erase other people's contributions to the page. I think I am at a stopping point but I'm not sure. The end project I hope to include 2 solid pictures: check dam design and a photo of a real implemented one. I also needed to finish hyperlinking to other wikipedia articles; would love some more feedback. Martinodesign (talk) 22:12, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Urbanature, I got a comment on the talk page for check dams about using the word that it crosses a waterway. Besides that, the comment was positive and excited to see the page flush out. I'm not sure how to encompass all the landscapes a check dam crosses just yet...maybe keep it as is on the page - across drainage ditches, waterways and swales.
