Re: Antikythera mechanism
[edit]Re your message: I removed the links because they were being spammed by the owner of the site to a variety of articles. It's a conflict of interest and generally links to blogs/podcasts are frowned upon unless they were produced by a recognized authority on the subject. If you think the podcast brings substantial information to the article, you're welcome to include it back in. -- Gogo Dodo 18:05, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Re your message: It's not that a link is spammed or not (though spamming will most certainly get a link removed), but what the external link brings to the article that additional text to the article can not. I don't know which BBC or Nature podcast you are referring to, but if, for example, the podcast had an in-depth interview with Mike Edmunds and Tony Freeth, then it would probably be acceptable to link. -- Gogo Dodo 04:14, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
