- Thank you very much for the correction, I did not notice it, my apologies, as I was under the impression that Wikipedia was effectively a reporting tool with information, in essence, being copied from other sources. I am now corrected thanks to you, I will now begin working on a copyright-friendly version, if I may ask, could I have access to the original article prior to this correction? I believe I am missing a citation, and it would be detrimental for me to attempt a re-writing without understanding precisely which content to remake in a manner that is most appropriate, please do not misunderstand, as I am simply reworking the article in such a manner that the information is preserved, but paraphrased so that it is not explicitly copyrighted. Once again, I apologize for the error and am currently wishing to correct such.
- Thank you in advance, and I hope I may be able to rectify the article's issue.
- Markovich Rashkolnikov (talk) 02:22, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
- Another note I forgot to add, I made the mistake on another article, that being the Suzak page, I have corrected it, it may require a review, as I am still unsure if it is entirely correct. In addition, please consider the above mentioned anecdote regarding sources to be obsolete, as I neglected to mention or remember my written list of citations in a notebook I have. Once again, my apologies for the two errors, and for any confusion I may or may not be causing. Markovich Rashkolnikov (talk) 02:36, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Thomas Coreman
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Thomas Coreman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Fram (talk) 09:16, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Thomas Coreman moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Thomas Coreman, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Greek
[edit]Hi! May I ask, do you speak Greek? Because in your edits on Ioannis Kotoulas you made several errors that a Greek (or Greek-speaker) wouldn't make. If you don't speak the language, may I advise you to refrain from 'translating' articles via Google Translate? The result, as with Kotoulas, is often counter-productive. Constantine ✍ 07:22, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
Hello to you too, I speak minimal Greek, but I do not use machine translation, instead, I try piecing it together using the words themselves, i.e., translating through a dictionary, then I clean up the morphemes and apply the word order, I am well aware of my imperfections as a translator, so any linguistic errors I make that are found and that I am notified of are very well appreciated. I am not a native speakers I just know a little about Greek and speak somewhat decently, in short, my Greek is acceptable, not decent, not great. Please let me know of any mistakes in translation I make, thank you very much in advance. Also please let me know if I left anything out of my responses to inquiry, or if you have any more questions. Markovich Rashkolnikov (talk) 18:29, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi again! The problem is that your skill is evidently not sufficient, and you also lack knowledge of the necessary historical and cultural context in order to correctly interpret information (e.g. your reverting the description of Kotoulas' photo). I appreciate that you are editing in good faith, and don't want to discourage you from editing, but if your skills are lacking, then please refrain from adding anything you are not 100% sure of. You should not expect other users to clean up or check the accuracy of your edits, which means that your inadvertent mistakes may spend years on Wikipedia and misinform quite a lot of people. Constantine ✍ 18:32, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for voicing your concerns, please inform me if there is anything else, if it is so evident, I believe I should have noticed, yet alas I did not. I admit I am poor at the Greek language, therefore I ought to see if anyone could translate on my behalf. I see now that it would've been far better to have done that from the very beginning. I must admit that this is the first I've heard of the edits on the page in question, but before I voice my opinions, I think it would be deeply unfair of me to ignore the corrections you've made, for one, the most serious one would be the fact that I added a note that Kotoulas fought at the battle of Sarandaporo, which was something I should've caught, yet again, I did not. You, on the other hand, did catch this, which I must applaud you for. I did forget to add his daughter's name, which was very negligent of me, thank you very much for having added that. These are amongst a variety of smaller edits and corrections, namely my poor usage of language and cleaning up the citations. On the other hand, I think there are but few things I have minor qualms with, which I think we can discuss in order to reach an understanding, as perhaps I misunderstand or vice versa, I assume either the former or both, as I am absolutely certain you are acting in good faith and did not intend anything but benefit. As for these matters, I am questioning your decision to remove the "Antgos" in his name, may I ask why you did that? I simply cannot come up with an explanation as to why someone would remove the first name of an individual on their biographical page, yet I'm sure you have a good reason, but I simply cannot come up with it. I intend no offense, but I have no idea what to make of this. There must be something I am missing. As for the inclusion of the quote, again, I admit I failed to properly translate it, but I think it is the only sample of his writing that has survived the passing of time, thus making it less menial, and far more important in my opinion; it is the only quote attested to him, and it informs the reader that he thought his subordinate totally incompetent. It is very telling of their relationship I think, and would be perfect, if combined with further information on his unit at the time, i.e., I think it would fit better if the article mentioned the formations under his command, including the quote, alongside information regarding the relevant command structure. An order of battle would almost certainly be out of the question, though, meaning someone would pretty much need to make one themselves by scrapping whatever is available together. The only other thing I am unsure of and can't say anything conclusive regarding is the photograph's date, there is so much contradictory information I think it shouldn't be changed whatsoever until definitive information is provided for either date, be it 1935, 1938, 1939 or 19XX, I'd say the dates on Wikimedia are unreliable, as one version of the photograph states it's from 1935, and the other 1938, since I don't know when he was promoted from a Major to a Lieutenant General, as you've stated the photograph depicts him as a Major General, which I do believe, however unfortunate (As I think it would've been perfect for the article if his portrait was of him as a Lieutenant General, seeing as that was his rank at the time of World War Two.), the date could be ascertained via uncovering when he was promoted in the first place. Apologies if I am coming off as a critic or as intending offense, I absolutely do not wish to be viewed in any of those lights, thank you very very much for bringing these concerns to me, it means quite a lot. My apologies for quite possibly wasting your time, as I understand you must be quite occupied. I think that should be all for now, thank you yet again, farewell. [edit]Hello, I'm Akalanka820. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Harsha, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please don't add community website wiki reference and external links to the page. If you got any issue please take your point to the talk page. Akalanka820 (talk) 06:46, 30 June 2022 (UTC)

@SunDawn: Always welcome, and I am very happy to help. Please forward any errors in my work and let me know if something's wrong or if I made a mistake so I can correct it, or at least so I can learn from it. Sometime in the future, I would like to expand the page, though I'd say that's going to happen sometime around November this year, so, I guess there's more where that came from. With regards and gratitude. Markovich Rashkolnikov (talk) 22:38, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Markovich Rashkolnikov! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Franciszek Wład that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Greyjoy talk 08:36, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
My apologies, I evidently misunderstood the purpose of minor edit markers, thank you for notifying me. I mistakenly believed that they were only used for small edits or modifications that would not be considered notable. Once again my apologies for the mistake in question, and I shall use proper edit markers henceforth. Markovich Rashkolnikov (talk) 22:53, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

User talk page
[edit]Hello, Markovich Rashkolnikov,
Do not move your User talk page to an anonymous User page. This is an important page used for communication and shouldn't be buried in your User pages. There is really no good reason to move a User talk page so please do not do this again. If you decide to get a change of username, then the renamer will move your User pages including your User talk page. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:42, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

I will not repeat this error again. Thank you for the notification and for your concern. Markovich Rashkolnikov (talk) 08:05, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
