Alan Riding
[edit]Hey, thanks for getting in touch on my talk page. Alan Riding is going to be a good article; he's clearly a notable person and it's well-written in a neutral voice. I think you will need to beef up your references, though. All information about a living person must be sourced and there is a lot of info on the internet about Riding so it shouldn't be hard. At the moment your references are more like external links - they don't really tells us where the information in your article comes from. You may want to review Wikipedia's help file on Independent, reliable sources and inline citations help. There are lots of ways to do citations and feel free to use any of the methods set out in the help pages, but inline citations make a direct link between the information in the article and the source, making it easier to verify. I will add one just to give you an example - I've added one from a not-so-independent site but I'm sure you will be able to come with better sources than that. Kind Regards, --Snowysusan (talk) 14:46, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
thanks!
[edit]super, thanks for these tips! learning "wikiwrite" is fun, but taking me a little while -- i'll try to track down and add some references in the next few days. thanks again! Markmarkai (talk) 18:53, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

Alan Riding Article
[edit]Hi Mark..., I got your article back! The last reference tag you added didn't have a slash in front of the word ref. If the ref tags aren't closed or the last one is missing the slash, etc., the rest of the article will be held hostage until you fix it but it isn't gone forever. If you have any troubles, don't hesitate to call on me. Cheers. --Snowysusan (talk) 08:19, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I'm working on it! I think I've got some good ones... I'll try to resbumit today or tomorrow. Thanks for your support! Markmarkai (talk) 08:29, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hello and pardon the belated response, I read the article twice and I believe it needs additional sources, particularly the first two awards and first paragraph of the "Career" section. Cheers! SwisterTwister talk 05:08, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
