If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:UgoWork, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

This username was created a while ago and I understand that it does not meet Wikipedia's requirements. I'd like to make a change to the username for Jean-François at UgoWork. My goal is to be able to make adjustments to pages that are related to my interests. I've already started making adjustments about lithium-ion batteries. The aim of creating a page on UgoWork is to bring out the right information about the organization, in a neutral way. The deleted draft was not complete, and sources and media articles still had to be added. The text didn't include any promotional phrases, just the objectives, products, certifications and history. I am entirely open to peer review. MarketingUgoWork (talk) 17:06, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

You will need to make the Terms of Use required paid editing disclosure and read conflict of interest. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company or LI batteries; we will first want to see a good edit history of edits in areas unrelated to your conflict of interest first, before permitting you to indirectly contribute about those topics. Would you agree to, for now, refrain from edit about your company and field? What topics might you edit about instead? 331dot (talk) 19:57, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the process to change my username and be unblocked, could you please provide detailed steps and a timeline for these actions? I want to ensure I follow the correct procedure promptly.
Also, regarding the type of edits you're seeking, I understand the importance of demonstrating a positive editing history. However, could you clarify what specific types of edits would be considered suitable for this purpose? It's challenging to edit everything except the topics of interest, so some guidance in this regard would be helpful.
Lastly, could you provide an estimate of how long it might take before I'm permitted to create a neutral page for my company? I want to assure you that I've thoroughly read the conflict of interest pages and I'm committed to disclosing my affiliation with the company transparently. MarketingUgoWork (talk) 12:17, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please read Wikipedia:COI before attempting to create a page for your company, otherwise anything you attempt will almost certainly be deleted. Deb (talk) 12:40, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can't give you a specific number of edits or a specific time frame, but usually in this situation a few hundred edits over several months. In my experience allowing COI/paid editors to dive right into making COI edits, even indirectly, just wastes the time of everyone involved(including the editor). Usually the COI editor is too close to their company/topic to be able to contribute about it as Wikipedia expects. Might you be the exception? Sure, but we'll need to see evidence of that.
You say "The aim of creating a page on UgoWork is to bring out the right information about the organization, in a neutral way." Wikipedia is not interested in what UgoWork wants to say about itself, it is interested in what others say about it and what makes it a notable company as Wikipedia defines it. We don't just want a summary of the routine business activities of the company, or what the company considers to be its own history. Wikipedia wants to know what others unaffiliated with the company say is the history of the company. While it's possible that a company affiliated editor can summarize what others say about the company, it's uncommon.
A company trying to force the issue of creating an article is not usually successful. A company may also not be aware that there are good reasons to not want an article. It won't be locked to what the company might prefer that it say, nor will others be prevented from editing it(except for specific vandalism/disruption). "Bad" information about a company is valid content as long as it appears in an independent reliable source and is not defamatory. Please keep these things in mind. 331dot (talk) 09:52, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
