Typo redirect Flower (Bambi)

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Flower (Bambi), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Flower (Bambi) is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Flower (Bambi), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Warrior code section

[edit]

I removed the warrior code section you added to Warriors (novel series) since there is not much real need for it, we can simply reference the website it was copied from if needed. Thanks--Res2216firestar 02:51, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute resolution question.

[edit]
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, please place a new {{help me}} request on this page followed by your questions, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page.

I have a dilemma. I know that if a change one wishes to make is contested by another, you should engage in dispute resolution like talking on a talk page. But the problem is that I can't get a discussion about my proposal off the ground; the other party appears to be unwilling to come to the table, so to speak. I can't find any policy regarding a situation like this, so I'm left without knowing what to do and in what I feel could become a hostile situation and/or result in a block against me should I continue to push for my change. Can anyone point me in the right direction? --MarioLOA (talk) 03:35, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have replaced your request for admin assistance with a general request. The proper response in this situation was not to revert the edit [1], and engage in an edit war, but to engage in discussion with Eaglestorm. I realize that situations of this nature, especially when others refuse to engage in discussion, can become quite frustrating. The user is currently blocked due to an edit war regarding a separate article. Honestly though, if the action on this article was additionally flagged, the most likely result would be a block of your account as well. At this point, I would recommend reading WP:BRD, which presents the guidelines for discussing edits rather than engaging in edit wars. When you encounter situations of this nature (or when others refuse to engage in conversation), I recommend requesting a third opinion or filing a report at the Edit war/3RR noticeboard. Please note that with articles of a fictional nature, the episode itself provides support for plot content. The stated rationale to remove content because there are "no references anywhere in the article, [and that you] don't see the point of keeping the last paragraph" neither negates or supports inclusion in accordance with policy or guidelines. At this point, the inclusion is based solely on a personal point of view of both parties. I would recommend contacting this editor on his/her talk page in an effort to resolve the dispute. If this doesn't work, try a third opinion, then the noticeboard. Do not continue to revert edits to your preferred version before a resolution is reached between the two of you. Hope this helps. If you have questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 08:21, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your help. I've found it hard because not only am I bad at expressing myself in words (it's Asperger Syndrome), I've never been involved in something like this before. That said, there's still a question on my mind: Should I reach out to Eaglestorm now, or wait until he/she is unblocked? --MarioLOA (talk) 13:37, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Person of Interest episodes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Kelly (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
