Women in the military suggestion
I created a list of articles in my sandbox that can be added to the various women in the military timelines. I separated them out by the ones with pictures, and sorted them so women of color and LGBT women are priorities. If you want to help me add them to the timelines that would be a big help. Here's the link: My sandbox. I'm thinking of potentially going so far as to create a timeline or timelines of pre-WWI women in war in the United States, such as women in the Revolutionary War (like Deborah Sampson, for example) and women in the Civil War (like Cathay Williams). It might be a good idea since even though the information is more sparse compared to the Women in war in the United States timeline, we still have a fairly large glut of it. What do you think? Asarelah (talk) 12:55, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
- I've begun an Experimental pre-WWI timeline in my sandbox by copy-pasting from other timelines. Let me know what you think. I know that moving the entries from the main timelines to separate ones would shorten the main timelines significantly, but there's plenty of non-U.S. info that can be added in to fill them out. Invitation
Hello! As there is a Wikipedia article about you, you are cordially invited to contribute a short audio recoding of your spoken voice, so that our readers may know what you sound like and how you pronounce your name. Details of how to do so, and examples, are at Wikipedia:Voice intro project. Please feel free to ask for help or clarification on the project talk page, or my talk page.--1Veertje (talk) 13:54, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Precious
Puerto Rico shared knowledge
Thank you, Tony, devoted "to preserving the history and accomplishments of Puerto Ricans in the U.S. military", for quality articles on Puerto Rico and Latin American history, such as the Mozambican War of Independence, for correcting yourself, for a user page with FA qualities, sharing gang life and "positive experiences and recognitions", - you are a veteran awesome Wikipedian (11 May 2007, 7 April 2009)!
At Territories of the United States
At Territories of the United States, TFD has attempted to remove the section I wrote on 21st century territories, claiming they were “random collection of facts used to argue territories are part of U.S.” I have opened a discussion section at Talk:Territories of the United States/Archive 1#21st century (current) territories.
I am not asking you to agree with me, we have disagreed before, but please give a look to see if I have overstepped. I mean only to properly lay out one side of the argument, appropriately sourced, and allow for inclusion of both sides.
For Puerto Rico, the best I have is, Lawson and Sloane in the Boston College Law Review, “Regardless of how Puerto Rico looked in 1901 when The Insular Cases were decided or in 1922, today, Puerto Rico seems to be the paradigm of an incorporated territory as modern jurisprudence understands that legal term of art.” [p.1175] And, the last U.S. Census report of State Area Measurements... says, "The table below provides land, water and total area measurements for the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Island Areas.” includes Puerto Rico with the states and DC in the top chart for "United States" on the last line.
But regardless of whether you find that persuasive, I believe I should get a fair hearing, and both sides should be properly sourced. Thanks in advance for any contribution you would want to make. TheVirginiaHistorian (talk) 06:04, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
