[edit]Hello, Marifc55, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.
I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Editing toolbar
[edit]Hello, I saw that you are a student that will be working on the Butch and femme article as a course assignment. This message is simply to make you aware of the formatting used in this Wikipedia article (WP:CITEVAR: "If the article you are editing is already using a particular citation style, you should follow it "). Sources are cited with citation templates. Enable the editing toolbar: in your Preferences > Editing > Editor > select "Enable the editing toolbar". The toolbar includes the "> Cite" button. Click on Cite and it opens the Templates box. Click on Templates and it provides four pre-formatted citation templates (cite web, cite news, cite book, cite journal). Select one, then click on "[Show/hide extra fields]" and all the template parameters appear. Fill the blank boxes with the details about the source, click "[Preview]" so you can check what the citation will look like, then click "[Insert]" and the citation is automatically added to the area you selected to add a citation. When adding a refname for re-using the same source, do not use numbers (e.g. <ref name=":0">, <ref name=":9">) -- use a name (e.g. <ref name="Smith">, <ref name="Smith2000">). See Refname rules. Good luck with your assignment. Pyxis Solitary (yak). L not Q. 01:59, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
