Block message:
Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Ctwomen". The reason given for Ctwomen's block is: " Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully. Why can't I edit Wikipedia? Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy. Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username? Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead. What can I do now? You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following: Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must: Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked. If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block. ".

Accept reason: Looks like the auto-block has already been lifted, as the block of Ctwomen was reduced to soft block. Favonian (talk) 21:45, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

I have redone my article again. Please check my sandbox. Also, can you let me know where you would suggest I add quotations, citations, and other info. Thank you so much. Kristen46 18:27, 14 November 2011 (UTC)kristen46

[edit]Hi Tess, welcome to the Global Education Program! Annie Lin (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 21:57, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
I am wondering what should I do because my organization the National Union of Students Black Students' Campaign branched off the National Union of Students and the only information about the organization is on the website so im wondering what should i do? ive tried to contact ambassadors and everything and this project is beginning to confuse me. Ronald06514 —Preceding undated comment added 00:18, 10 October 2011 (UTC).
Hey there! We have had several students requesting the support of various editors to work with them as mentors. The Online Ambassador(s) signed up with each course actually serve the class as mentors. Is there additional assistance that the class is seeking? Let me know and I'll see what we can do. I would also like to suggest adding dates to the timeline on the above referenced course. Unfortunately, it is difficult for others to assist the course, unaware of the current focus of the students. Dates would greatly enhance the online experience of each student. Please feel free to let me know if you have questions. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 19:13, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry about the confusion on the mentors--I'll let the students know to just contact Ed. And you're right: Although the students have the dates of everything in the syllabus, it would help the online community to see the dates here. Marchantshapiro (talk) 13:16, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
- After checking with Ed, I've gone ahead and signed on as OA to lighten the load. I'm looking forward to working with the students. My professional background includes providing research to develop and write feasibility studies, along with executive, strategic, programming, and fundraising plans. My consulting work exclusively supports advocacy organizations and humanitarian efforts that address global gender inequality and sex trafficking. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 01:45, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks so much. I was a little worried because although it was very kind of Ed to sign up as the online ambassador, I didn't want to overburden him since on the original mentor page he had indicated he was interested in helping a maximum of 2 students. It sounds like your background is perfect for the topics the students are working on. No wonder they had contacted you! I really appreciate your willingness to help. Marchantshapiro (talk) 15:22, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- Oh gee, the "two student" limit was from last year! We were mentoring individual students then and I wasn't sure how much time each student would take; I could have taken on many more, hence my signing up for a full class. :-) Regards, Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 17:17, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Survey
[edit]Hi Marchantshapiro!
I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!
It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!
Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!
Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! SarahStierch (talk) 00:23, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
