Welcome, MarcBgd!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, MarcBgd! I'm Ozzie10aaaa, and I've been assigned as your mentor. About half of new Wikipedia accounts receive a mentor chosen randomly from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! We need to have all kinds of people working together to create an online encyclopedia, so I'm glad you're here. Over time, you will figure out what you enjoy doing the most on Wikipedia.
You might have noticed that you have access to a tutorial and suggested edits. It's recommended that you take advantage of this, as it'll make learning how to edit Wikipedia easier.
If you need assistance with anything or have any questions, click on the "Get editing help" button on the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up a module with links to help pages and a place to ask me questions. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or go here to get help from the wider community.
Again, welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Frederick Louis, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Augustenborg. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Copyright
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Ingrid Detter de Frankopan article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement: "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribute Share-Alike".
You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the Help Desk. You can also leave a message on my talk page. Yamla (talk) 19:28, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- This also applies to Lady Nicholas Windsor. Please do not edit further until you have resolved all WP:COPYRIGHT/WP:FAIRUSE concerns with your edits so far. --Yamla (talk) 19:29, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the message,
- I now understand the point. I have read the guidelines...I will try to improve my edits in the future...that is of course if I am allowed to do so, as I have been blocked for a period of indefinite. I would kindly ask to reconsider your decision after some time, as I am very happy about contributing here and have put great amount of effort and time to it.
- Thank you in advance! MarcBgd (talk) 22:41, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:
- What is copyright?
- How is Wikipedia licenced?
- Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
- Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
- How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?
Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Additionally, you'd need to commit to going back over 100% of your edits and removing all existing violations, prior to editing further. --Yamla (talk) 23:14, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

Block evasion
[edit]User evaded their block to make substantially similar edits and cause significant disruption, in March 2024. --Yamla (talk) 10:12, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- And they've done it again since, several times. Graham87 (talk) 03:02, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Can you tell me what kind of "substantially similar significant disruptions" have I done exactly? Who determines what significant disruptions are and in which case? Even if I have done similar edits, I have done them because they haven't been done as they could have...I posted a source of almost everything I posted, was trying to make wikipedia better and more understanding...What exactly have I done that to being blocked like this?
- In messages I get here, you say things in general, which can be interpreted in several ways. The only thing I do is trying for wikipedia to look more informative, more visible and more understandable. But, unfortunately, it seems nobody appreciates all trying and hard work put in so far...just banishing something you don't like, because that's the easiest thing to do if someone personally doesn't like changes I made. MarcBgd (talk) 09:25, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- You are blocked. You personally are not permitted to edit Wikipedia until your block on this account is lifted. --Yamla (talk) 10:00, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- I know that...but I all you send me are these generic answers, seems like copy/paste.
- In most recent case, what I wanted to know is what "substantially similar significant disruptions" have I done exactly? In terms of example.
- I have never offended anyone, have never put anything that is disrespectful, have done tons of work to improve wikipedia, but nobody notices that... MarcBgd (talk) 11:30, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
