radical alterations to the intro to quantum mechanics article
[edit]Hi,
A new editor has unilaterally made many drastic changes to the article Introduction_to_quantum_mechanics to which you have made contributions. I do not think that the changes are desirable. I do not want to start an edit war. Could you please have a look at it? Thanks. P0M (talk) 23:26, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Nomination of Thinking in C++ for deletion
[edit]A discussion has begun about whether the article Thinking in C++, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thinking in C++ until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. D O N D E groovily Talk to me 04:05, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
The article Significantly Prettier and Easier C++ Syntax has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- not notable. no implementations. not active for at least 3 years.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ysangkok (talk) 12:20, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for November 16
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Real World Haskell, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Don Stewart (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Real World Haskell
[edit]Hello MarSch,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Real World Haskell for deletion, because it seems to be an promotion, rather than an encyclopedia article.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, MJH (talk) 04:47, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for message. You will note that the article had already been tagged as spam by another editor, so it's not just my opinion. We have an article which has virtually no content except a link to the book, looks like promotion to me. It's also unlikely that that the excemption from speedy deletion on notability grounds for books applies here, since there is no suggestion that it has a real life existence, and web pages are not excluded from the notability criteria. There are no independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:20, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

The article Kernel (programming language) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Minor, academic programming language. Only affiliated references, viz. a tech report by the inventor and his webpage. Some surfing brought up multiple implementations, but no use, no widely-cited papers, no in-depth coverage in major third-party sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Talk Shogi
[edit]Hi MarSCh. Please do not insert your replies into the middle of one of my comments. My post was intended to be read as a single post and was in response to something Ihardlythinkso posted. My post was signed and time stamped at the end and your reply unintentionally makes it seem as if it is actually two separate posts and as if one of them is replying to you, which changes its meaning in my opinion. The first part is now without a signature or time stamp so someone new to the discussion might see it as separate post made by another person. Moreover, if someone replies to you then the separation between the two parts will further increase and make it even harder to tell they are not separate posts by different editors. Your way of posting may be common on other forums, etc., but I don't think it's in compliance with WP:TPG. I'm happy to continue discussing things with you. Just add your post to the end, so that the discussion can continue on as before. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:07, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Marchjuly, I was not aware I had done so. Please accept my apology. MarSch (talk) 12:16, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
- That's OK. Sorry for coming down on you like a ton of bricks. I should've probably posted something here after the first time you inserted it, but I thought my edit sum was sufficient. Oh well, no blood no foul. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:02, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
- It would have been sufficient, but somehow I missed that and I in some unrelated confusion of my own making, I thought I had somehow misplaced my reply. Being oblivious of its existence, I unknowingly undid your correction. I can see that that must have been rather annoying for you, so I now better understand where the harsh tone of your first message comes from. Anyway, looking forward to seeing you around the wiki. --MarSch (talk) 11:51, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Lisp in Small Pieces
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Lisp in Small Pieces, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
