User talk:Maplejet
Hello Maplejet, and welcome to Wikipedia! The first thing you should know is that we encourage you to be bold. Feel free to edit and improve articles, by clicking any 'edit' link.
If you'd like to test what Wikipedia can do, check out the sandbox - just type and save the page and your text will appear. That's the beauty of a Wiki.
For more information check out our tutorial - it's designed with newcomers in mind, as is the help section. If you'd like to get involved with current projects, have a look at the Community Portal. There are always tasks for users to do, ranging from copyediting to expanding stubs.
I hope you'll enjoy your time here, but be warned, it can become addictive! Feel free to message me, I'm more than happy to help. As an added tip, sign any message you post so users know that you've said it. To do so is delightfully simple, just use the wikicode ~~~~.
Once again, welcome!

License tagging for Image:Beastie Boys - Triple Trouble CD cover.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Beastie Boys - Triple Trouble CD cover.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:05, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Modern Rock #1s
[edit]Hey there, thanks for doing wikilink maintenance on these! Just a quick request - if the current link is incorrect please disambiguate it instead of removing it completely (i.e. if "Good Stuff (song)" is wrong, change it to "Good Stuff (The B-52's song)" instead of getting rid of the link). Thanks and keep up the good work! - eo 14:21, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah...I'm do that. This morning, all I was doing was trying to fill up the Modern Rock #1 hits category as the category page requested. I would set up pages for the red links later though. Yeah, I'll take care of it though. Maplejet 19:05, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion
[edit]I noticed that you tagged the page List of post-grunge articles for speedy deletion with the reason "list is full of inaccuracies, poorly defined, unreliable". However, "list is full of inaccuracies, poorly defined, unreliable" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use Wikipedia:Articles for deletion if you still want the page to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 18:14, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
I agree with you that this page is redundant with Category:Post-grunge groups. I just wanted to make sure that, before doing so, you went through the list and made sure that all of the appropriate groups are tagged as being in that category, because that way we are making sure that the list really is redundant with the category. If you've done so, I'd even support the prod with a {{prod2}}. Thanks. Chubbles 06:43, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:IncubusStellar.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:IncubusStellar.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:33, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
