Welcome!

[edit]

Hi Manipe, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!

Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

  • RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.
  • Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.
  • Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.
  • Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.
  • Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: [[User:Mailer diablo|Mailer Diablo]] 17:36, 17 December 2005 (UTC). This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)

Great work

[edit]

You've done some great work for all things F1 here, so thank you for that. I'm sorry we got off to something of a bad footing. Keep up the good work - it is very much appreciated. violet/riga (t) 21:12, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and no worries about our initial encounter. Life works out that way. Manipe 21:16, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

About Aguri Suzuki edit you have made... I really like those "shortened" names for teams in the table. Now the table is too wide (I use 800x600 screen resolution). Would you mind if I revert the table, or just shorten the names of the teams?--RockyMM 08:20, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've just changed them back now. Manipe 11:58, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rosberg's Nationality

[edit]

I changed his nationality in the article to "German/Finnish", but you changed it back. He has a passports of both countries, so I think that both nationalities should be mentioned. He's actually planning on starting to represent Sweden while driving, but his nationality won't still be Swedish. The flag that a driver uses doesn't necessarily have to do anything with his nationality. I didn't want to change it back to "German/Finnish", but wanted to ask you first, in case you had a specific reason for changing this. --HJV 21:42, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand what you are saying, but to be honest I'm not entirely sure what should be there. Maybe you should ask in the discussion page of the article, to see what other people say, because my opinion is devided. Manipe 21:51, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you add the {{polytonic}} template in the external links when removing some linkspam? Colonies Chris 10:26, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, didn't mean to put that in. I must have just clicked it by accident in the insert table below. I've removed it now. Manipe 14:56, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2008 F1 season

[edit]

Hi. Nice work! I mean we're well past half way of '06 and don't know where most drivers will be in '07, never mind 2008. I think the start of the 2007 season is the earliest the 2008 tables should be added. Best regards, Mark83 14:15, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:1999 San Marino Grand Prix - Lap chart

[edit]

Thanks for the compliment! I have now included a reference for the lap chart (AUTOCOURSE 1999-2000).--Diniz 17:22, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ManipeF1

[edit]

I realize your work on Wikipedia has tapered off recently, however while doing some work I was reminded of something that I have found questionable for a few months. Mostly, the fact that you have used your own F1 news website as external links and a reference for nearly every season and race in the past few years. Although your facts are not under dispute, the fact that you use a website you write for to back up your edits seems questionable. There is also the fact that your site is one of the few F1 news sites to even be listed among external links on various F1 articles. This, to me, could be seen as spamming your own website for your own personal interest and therefore would be a conflict of interest.

This is not to say that your website is bad or that your contributions to Wikipedia are not appreciated, nor is this meant as any sort of attack on the validity of your edits. However I certainly think it is a question that deserves to be discussed. The359 22:37, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify, there is not an inherent problem with the information on ManipeF1.com. The problem I see is that you, as an editor, are using your own website as a source. This is the conflict of interest. It can be viewed as spam since you use your own website instead of any other, and thus people looking at sources would be sent to your website, improving your exposure. If you were not someone that wrote for ManipeF1, then there would be no problem. But as someone affiliated with ManipeF1, it can easily be viewed by some editors as you attempting to promote yourself even if your information added to the article is valid. Jose Maria Lopez

[edit]

Hi, if you read the discussion on Lopez on the Talk: 2010 Formula One season, you'll see that popular consensus is that the article quoting Lopez's spokesperson is good enough to be included in the driver table on 2010. It doesn't really matter since he's going to be announced in a few hours, but please do not revert edits or remove him from the table, okay? Prisonermonkeys (talk) 09:43, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And I suppose your source on Mercedes naming their car the RB1 was reliable too? What a joke. Manipe (talk) 14:18, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Växjö Småland Airport, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tenerife Airport (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
