- Note 1: On 12 Nov. 2010 the Premier League OWS listed 36 registered players for Arsenal - the 27 first team players listed above plus 11 other registered non-first team "U21" players not tracked here, less the newly removed Vito Mannone (due to his current loan spell) and Samir Nasri. It is not unusual for the registered squad listings of all twenty EPL teams on this OWS to contain some players that should by rights have been removed - for instance, the 36 registered players listed for Arsenal included Luke Ayling (who was released by Arsenal in May 2010 and now plays for Yeovil Town), Luke Freeman (who has been on loan at Yeovil Town since the start of the season), Armand Traoré (who has been on a season-long loan at Juventus since transfer deadline day) and Benik Afobe (who started a month-long loan at Huddersfield Town at the beginning of November). None of these 4 players should be listed as being eligible to play for Arsenal in the Premier League, but the OWS squad listings for many of the EPL teams contain a plethora of such bogus additions (of ineligible players that never play) to the actual core registered squads. However, the omission of Samir Nasri represents the first observed instance of a player that should be registered (in order to have been eligible to play in the recent EPL games that he has been playing in for Arsenal) not being listed. It is assumed that Nasri's omission is simply another instance of an EPL oversight (that will be fixed sooner rather than later) and not a case of Arsenal fielding ineligible players in its EPL fixtures. Nevertheless, Nasri's prolonged omission from Arsenal's registered EPL squad is still a little disconcerting! Update: On 19 Dec. 2010 Nasri had been added back into the Arsenal first team squad listing on the PL OWS (plus Armand Traoré had finally been removed); these corrections probably occurred at the same time that Aaron Ramsey was removed from the PL OWS listing due to the commencement of his new loan spell at Nottingham Forest on 25 Nov. 2010.
