Orphaned non-free media (File:Microsoft Word 2013 Start Screen.png)
Thanks for uploading File:Microsoft Word 2013 Start Screen.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:20, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Welcome Notices
Please, I see welcome notice as useful. I moved them to User:Malikussaid/Welcomes and keep the first one I received here. I am using them as references, but I need time to read the links there. Thanks for all the welcome notices posting and removal, it sure helps me understand Wikipedia and its policies.

Your user page
Hi, Malikussaid. I've removed some personal contact details from your User page revision history. Although posting this type of information about yourself is not expressly forbidden by policy, for safety's sake we remove this type of content as we cannot be sure whose contact info is really being posted. Don't worry, I'm not here to accuse you of any misdeed. In fact I want to apologize for taking the liberty of editing your page as I have done. It's my sincere opinion that user pages should be left to the user to maintain. I simply felt in this instance the content needed to be removed. If you wish to discuss my action please leave a message on my user talk. Regards Tiderolls 01:26, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- Umm, okay. How do I prove the contact info is mine? (... we cannot be sure whose contact info is really being posted)
- ----
- Malikussaid (talk) 11:01, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- Actually I suggest its better you dont. There are literally hundreds of vandals, telemarketers, and all sort of people who search around everywhere for people's addresses, phone numbers and email ids. I suspect many would be watching wikipedia pages too. I wouldnt want to give my number to them else I face attacks of all kinds. "Email this user" is a much safer way to allow others to contact you. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 11:39, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, but believe me, here in my country, "vandals, telemarketers, and all sort of people who search around everywhere" is already sending unwanted catalogs to the mailbox, and sending fraud short message to my mobile phone. Even I receive spam on my inbox. But I appreciate your care and accept the modification to my user page.
- Thanks!
- ----
- Malikussaid (talk) 14:29, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- I see you have decided to accept the deletion of the contact info but I did not want to leave your question unattended. The answer is I do not know to make such a proof. It may be possible that by contacting the Wikipedia:Volunteer Response Team you would be able to prove your identity. I'm sure they would give you the same advice as User:TheOriginalSoni, though. While one's internet footprint is open to those that are truly determined, or have limitless resources, openly publishing one's location is visible to anyone with an internet connection. If this response is not helpful, let me know. Regards Tiderolls 15:57, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- Malikussaid (talk) 14:29, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- It is quite informative. Thank you.

Note from an administrator
Hey, I've looked into what you did on the talk page back in 2007, and it's all right. We forgive you. Just don't do that sort of thing again, okay? DS (talk) 04:31, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'll do my best. Thank you.

Some bubble tea for you!
Cheers! Here is some Bubble tea to celebrate a fresh and clear start for you. Lets hope you make the most productive use out of it!!! TheOriginalSoni (talk) 11:54, 31 December 2012 (UTC) |
Thanks. I really appreciate it. Malikussaid (talk) 14:25, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- Tell me if you have any problems. Till then, Au Revoir!!! TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:01, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
Your edit to Guatanamo Bay
Hello,
Its no big deal. Lots of editors make plenty of huge mistakes. Yours is still way smaller. Just apologise, and maybe have an oversighter remove it maybe? That should be more than enough.
Cheers TheOriginalSoni (talk) 13:22, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- I also think you meant WP:Editor review not an RFC ... RFC's need to be certified as they're a fairly formal process. For the most part, we let bygones be bygones. The improper uploads noted above - those are more problematic and current (✉→BWilkins←✎) 13:27, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- RFC is when I or someone else finds your behaviour inappropriate and we want the community to do something about it. In your case, its certainly not the case. I suggest you just relax :) Nobody is going to bite you!
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 13:29, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- Umm, I will put a statement of apologizement in my user page as soon as I finalized the wording.
- How can I contact oversighter?
- I think I am requesting for comments? I'm sorry. Now what should I do? Regarding the fair use images above, the problem is already remedied. The montage of screenshots for use at Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office 2013 is done, and 3 of 8 screenshots (that's 3 of 4 programs) is already in use on their respective articles. I think the issue above is solved, or do I think wrongly?
- Thanks,
- ----
- Malikussaid (talk) 13:35, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- First thing - What you did was a simple and forgivable mistake. Nobody will blame you for something you did 5 years ago as a teenager. Clean starts are allowed.
- Second thing - RFC is NOT what you think it is. I suggest you withdraw it. I shall tag it for deletion.
- Third thing - Apparently, you dont need an oversighter to remove what you added. Asking any administrator will be just as fine. Some admin can surely help you and advise you on how to delete it [Shall I ask someone to help?]
- About the images- Here is what I found
- File:Microsoft_Excel_2013_Default_Screen.png, File:Microsoft_PowerPoint_2013_Default_Screen.png, File:Microsoft_OneNote_2013_Default_Screen.png- Linked.
- The rest - . Not linked yet. Link them to existing articles to not delete the files.
- You may want to learn about Wikipedia policies from other users. Either you can try figuring things on your own (where I can give you the links) or you can ask for help from other users for the same. Which one do you prefer?
- TheOriginalSoni (talk) 13:47, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- 1. Okay, thank you.
- 2. Okay, so how to withdraw it? UPDATE: I posted a Request for Closure here. Malikussaid (talk) 14:14, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- I removed it. There was no need for that. Simply write and sign on this page(top of the page) that you wish to delete the page, since it was created by mistake. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:33, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

- None taken. And nopes. I am not an admin. I shall ask an admin to see what can be done TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:33, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- I left it up to you. Please put a notice here about the progress. Malikussaid (talk) 21:06, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- I talked to an admin about it. I think he shall contact you himself. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 04:27, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- I see you have already been forgiven. Thats great. No worries now. I personally removed the problematic thread from the archives. You can still see it in the page histories though. Sadly we cannot easily delete "that". No worries though. Since you are forgiven now, nobody will take it against you. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 04:42, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

- 4. Indeed. The start screen ones is not going to be used. The Microsoft Word Default Screen one is... the Microsoft Word article already has screenshot of Word 2013, and I don't want to force the article to use my screenshot, so I am leaving it as is (and expect it to be deleted per 5 January).
- If an image is not required, you may simply ask for it to be deleted. Saves a lot of time for others. See Wikipedia:CSD on how it works - The category I am asking for is G7 -"Author requested deletion". I have asked for the other withdrawal above under the same category. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:33, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

- 5. (Policy) May I choose a hybrid? I would read the policy and ask thing I really don't understand (either unfamiliar or lost in translation) on your talk page.
- Sure. Anything you prefer. You can also contact the guys at the Wikipedia:Teahouse. They can also help you in various ways. And if are unsure of what something is, its always better to ask [Request for Closure, which you tried to use; was for actions where community consensus was to be judged, not where its simple deletion] TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:33, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

- I think I don't wrongly read, and as I've verified, "Requests for comment (RfC) is an informal process for requesting outside input concerning disputes, policies, guidelines, article content, or user conduct."

- As I can see, the matter is resolved. I would like to thank TheOriginalSoni, DS, and Bwilkins for all their involvement on this issue. I consider this matter as a mistake in the past and a warning to me to make more neutral edit.
- My gratitude,

- Sure. Ask us for help anytime you need it. (You might like to choose Wikipedia:WikiLove as a method to show gratitude.)
- Hope you have an enjoyable stay at Wikipedia

- P.S. Now that the matter is closed, you can remove the "My first edit" section from your userpage if you wish to. User and talk pages are owned by the users for whom they belong, and you have a lot of liberty in how you choose to manage it. (See Wikipedia:User pages). If your talk page becomes too long, you also can archive it (like I have done mine). For more details, see Help:Archiving a talk page and User:MiszaBot/Archive HowTo. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 11:49, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- I, I... think I need to read more about Wikilove before making decisions about Wikiloving someone.
- About my user page... I am improving it over the course of several weeks from now. I am trying to apply designs, formatting, imaging, quoting, external and internal linking, citing resources, making boxes and so on there. I will clean up and remove improper infos after I finisher.
- Please consider checking my archive and archive indexing settings, as it seemed don't work.
- ----
- Malikussaid (talk) 21:07, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- Alright. Take your time. And ask me if you need any help.
- You archive settings are absolutely fine. Just wait for a day or two. The bot which does the archiving does it at a specific time every day; so it usually takes a day before your archiving is first done. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 21:13, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
