Status and Advice

[edit]

The article on The Women and Memory Forum , which I have moved to Women and Memory Forum according to our usual way of doing things, does show enough notability to pass speedy. References are not necessary for that, but better references will be needed to stay in Wikipedia. You need to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases).

But much more important, the current material is in large part taken from their web site, and that is unacceptable--its a copyright violation. You can however give us permission if you own the material or can persuade the forum, either by putting a suitable license on your web page, or by sending us permission. The procedures are described at WP:DCM, and need to be followed exactly. I advise you to improve this article very quickly, before the article gets deleted by a regular deletion process. Otherwise, rewrite it entirely--not just paraphrase. As reviewing administrator, I am required to remove it, but I am rewriting a little of it as a placeholder. I advise you to take care of this very quickly, before the article gets nominated for deletion by a regular deletion process. DGG ( talk ) 20:04, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Who is she in egypt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Jimmy Pitt talk 11:05, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
