TIPS FOR GROUP DISCUSSION
*Try to be the first speaker, it earns points but only if you are sure about your knowledge of the topic.
*In a GD, it is not important for how long you speak but how many times you can enter the GD.
*If you do not know anything, let others speak, try and grab from them and then rephrase. While rephrasing try to define the topic in (20-30) words, then give logic in (45-50) words and then give an example.
*Most important thing to use in a GD is the eyes. The eyes are very important to retain an audience.
*When not talking look for people who agree with you because these will be the people who will listen to you later.
*One should always be assertive.
*Never mediate in case of a fish market situation. Try to calm the people with your eyes.
*Brainstorming- it is required when nobody knows anything. Use the 5W’s that is…… WHAT? WHERE? WHEN? WHY? WHO? AND HOW? *Also use different subjects like SOCIAL, MORAL, ECONOMICAL, GEOGRAPHICAL etc.
*Do not take a stand. If caught up you can change a stand.
*The examples are of two types. PRIMACY- very important points and RECENCY- recent past.
*Always enter when a point is dying. Italic text
