If you feel like it, you might want to have a closer look at List of best-selling albums in Argentina. On a whim, I checked La Carretera and it was erroneously listed as 6× Platinum. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 08:57, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
- Well the link was already there before I added the certification to be quite honest. But thanks for point that out. DJ Magician Man (talk) 15:18, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Grammy Awards Task Force Update
<font=3>I'd like to offer an update of the Grammy Awards task force. The task force was established 3 months ago with 26 featured lists and 8 good articles. Since then, the project has increased the number of featured lists to 39 and good articles to 10, a major accomplishment for a small task force in such a short period of time! There are currently 2 Grammy-related lists at FLC (Latin Grammy Award for Song of the Year and Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance), so be sure to offer feedback/comments if possible. Also, a Sources page has been set up to provide reliable sources for future use--this tool will be very helpful for finding references quickly. Keep up the great work, task force members! --Another Believer (Talk) 15:46, 7 July 2011 (UTC) |

Hey, I had left some tips for you on the talk page of the article. Hope it helps and best of luck, AJona1992 (talk) 17:06, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Lets help each other out?
Hey! I have a great idea. I don't know if you are still reviewing GA articles. But if you are, lets review each others articles? I'll review your article (Todo a su Tiempo (Marc Anthony album)) and you can review my article (El Chico Del Apartamento 512). So what do you say? Lets help each other? Its all up to you, its ok if you don't want to or not into reviewing articles anymore. Just a tip. AJona1992 (talk) 04:32, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
- Right now, I'm focusing on the open FAC for Romances more than anything. I think it might be a bad idea to do that anyway because it could be seen as bias from other editors. Besides, I want to work on Dreaming of You sometime on the future. My main focus is working on albums that have impacted Latin American music and Dreaming of You is one of them. As for reviewing GA, I want brush up my skills more before I do that. Erick (talk) 04:51, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
- Well its all good. I do hope for the best for the album Romances. I see where you are coming from, eh I can wait two months at GANs lolz. Yea, I've been trying to get "Dreaming of You" up there but I wouldn't want to nominate it until WP:PR decides its time for it. I've found more reviews for the album, helping expanding it further then the 120,000 bytes, ouch. Well good luck bud, AJona1992 (talk) 04:58, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Multi-platinum albums
I have no idea what your opinion is on this matter but as someone who I know actively adds certifications, you might want to comment on the subject. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 07:46, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
- I feel as long as there is way to sort by breaking down the multiples like Koavf suggested, I am for it. Otherwise, I don't see the point of having a category about multiple platinum when a reader can't tell one multiple from another. Erick (talk) 20:14, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sure, in an ideal world it would work, but in my opinion such lists will never be created and even if one such list is created, it will never be maintained. The categories will be merged, and we will totally lose the capability to browse by the number of awards. Consider this, once the categories are merged, who is going to create lists? And from what data, as the categories were merged? Consider you add certifications to another article, would you personally go to another page and edit that for the certification? Now consider the next step will be to do this with all the other certifications, are you going to go to 10 different pages to update listings? I know I wont. Maybe I'm too pessimistic. Anyway, it seems like I'm in minority. --Muhandes (talk) 20:47, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well actually, I oppose the idea of having all albums with mutliple platinums being merged together for the sake of navigation. Like you said, in an ideal world it could work. If it could be done, I would be for it, but otherwise, not good for navigation. The same goes for all certifications by other recording industries. Erick (talk) 21:00, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- Your entry said "Agree with Kovaf". Kovaf said "Merge and listify". So everyone reads it sees it as if you are support the merge. Not that it matters much, I'm too tired to argue this anymore. --Muhandes (talk) 21:12, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry. Erick (talk) 21:14, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- Nothing to be sorry about, and it's not a big deal. --Muhandes (talk) 06:54, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

RIAA Latin Certifications
How do you know if Dreaming of You was certified in Latin type if in this source it doesn't state it at all? Thanks, AJona1992 (talk) 13:16, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- To see if any album received a Latin certification, click on "Advance", then click on "Type", and select "Latin". If an album received a Latin certification, it will be shown in the search results. Erick (talk) 18:03, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Oh now I see. Thanks Erick, AJona1992 (talk) 19:27, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
Brazil certification even easier
Hi there. I noticed you are using Brazilian certifications quite often, so I thought I'll drop you a line that I manage to automate them, and now no manual search is required. I hope you find this useful. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 09:06, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Re: Wanna help?
Hey man, it's been awhile since I've done any editing so I sort of took a break cuz of an overwhelming work schedule. But I'm back now and ready to make additions. And yes, I can help out. I sort of forgotten what I was doing and where I was at, so this could be a fresh restart. Where's this going on now? Gariseiro (talk) 07:41, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah I will do everything in my power cuz I'm still plenty busy. Just link me the the list and I'll have a look at some articles I could create. You're welcome for the help, thank you for the opportunity lol. Gariseiro (talk) 06:03, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hey Erick, yes I am still interested. I finally have my internet installed after I moved into my own apartment so I'll finally be able to create articles and just get busy on a lot of these projects that I have here. Gariseiro (talk) 04:04, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
Luis Miguel
Interesting that he's at number-one lolz [1]. Well Selena made #8, still impressing after all these years :) Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 19:25, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- Well I only like Luis Miguel for his boleros and rancheras. But I'm impressed to see my favorite artists on it, particulary Cristian Castro, Ricardo Montaner, and Chayanne. And some others I like such as Alejandro Fernandez, Juan Gabriel, Marc Anthony, Juan Luis Guerra, and of course Selena. Speaking of Anthony I was surprised to hear yesterday that he reclaimed the position of having the most #1 Tropical Songs. Perfect timing since I just finished working Otra Nota. Erick (talk) 19:43, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, well when I had read about "Romances" on the summary you had popped in my mind :) I'm not that very familiar with other Latin artists besides Anthony, Castro, Gabriel and Selena (even though I am half PR and have no Mexican in me lolz) Well since Anthony is working on new music, it somewhat didn't surprise me that hes back on the charts and reclaiming his title(s). BTW keep up the good work on your articles. You probably will take the first Spanish album to be FA. Dreaming of You is no where near that (right now) and plus its not really a Spanish album just mixed with both English and Spanish. I'm still working on Amor Prohibido, but its best to take my time then to rush into things. lolz Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 20:01, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
No Me Ames and JLO discography
If you'd like to add new charts, it should be discussed on the talk page beforehand. Besides that, it is strongly recommended that no more than ten be added. Yes, the purposal FAILED (due to lack of commentary about it), but then again, the whole article is based around it, so why have everything about the guideline but one thing? As for No Me Ames, it was discussed in FL that there are NO sources to say it was a single; that is why it was removed. If you can find a source for a release date, radio or CD single, it can be changed to a single; but if you don't have that, it wasn't a single. — Status {talkcontribs 21:52, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- It's okay, I know what it's like. Yes, I have seen that, but images can't be used as a source. From the looks on the amount of info that can be found, it received a very limited release. — Status {talkcontribs 21:58, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- That source was turned down in FL as well. :( — Status {talkcontribs 22:18, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- I see where the June 26th date was coming from now, when it charted! I just... I don't know. We don't have a source with an EXACT date of release. If anything, that promo single proves it was a promo single, but not an official one. Gonna do some archives investigating... — Status {talkcontribs 22:24, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- Maybe we could classify it as something like "Like a Surgeon". Billboard mentioned it as a new single, but there's no source for an exact date, just month. I say maybe we could get away with a June 1999 release date. We can't really say the 26th, as that's only when it charted, not released. Get me? — Status {talkcontribs 22:31, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- I think more users should chime in what they think about it first. Maybe start a discussion on the talk page? — Status {talkcontribs 02:29, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
- I just went ahead and added it to the discography. A discussion should still take, however, but to as why it should not be removed. — Status {talkcontribs 03:07, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

Selena task force
Hey there! I was thinking about creating a Selena task force instead of a WikiProject since there are only about 10-12 fans here and only myself who expands/works on her articles most of the time on Wikipedia. I was wondering where would I ask to do this? You're Latin Music task force, Latin America WikiProject, Mexican American WikiProject, United States WikiProject... Please help :) Thank you, Jonayo! Techno Cumbia
I was wondering, does Techno Cumbia (in Amor Prohibido) has to follow WP:ALBUMCAPS? Since the title is named after two music genres, I didn't follow WP:ALBUMCAPS but I'm not sure if it still qualifies since it is a Spanish song. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 16:53, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Sales/certifications advise needed
Hey there! Happy holidays :-) So after searching through numerous news articles and book articles located at goggle search, I have found some information that is contradictory. I know that RIAA is the top-most reliable source for certifications, however, I found some newspapers online that indicates sales of Selena's that are certified for an RIAA certification (but currently does not exist on RIAA). And because I want to bring these articles to FA status, I believe bringing these issues up can help pass the article. I found out in this book that Amor Prohibido sold 200,000 units under a year of its release and that her duet with the Barrio Boyzz' on Donde Quiera Que Estes sold 100,000 units. According to Aug 20, 1995 issue of Time magazine the song sold 400,000 copies by late 1995. However, according to this book "Amor Prohibido" sold 500,000 copies by 2005, which means that its certification would be gold, however, I didn't want to put that in the article because I want a second opinion about this. I also have another certification problem with Entre a Mi Mundo. According to this Billboard book the album sold 200,000 copies in Mexico. However, The AMPROFON denies that Selena ever sold anything in Mexico (which is weird, considering her success in that country). Because of the source came from Billboard, I went ahead and added that Entre a Mi Mundo was certified 3x gold (300,000 copies). So this is a big problem since all these sources verify the sales but the RIAA and AMPROFON denies certifications for these. Also can you notify User:Muhandes for his input as well? Thanks, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 19:18, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Sales =/= Certifications. There's a parameter for the Cert Template that allows you input salesamount and salesref to include reference for the sales amount. Also one for "nocert" if you have sales, but no certifications. As for the certifications, if it's not on the RIAA official website, chances are, the certifications are not by a certifying authority. As for AMPROFON, the earliest the certifications go back to are 1999, so you won't find earlier albums on their databases. Erick (talk) 21:31, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Can you teach me to input it for the two articles please? Thanks for replying :-) Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:16, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- The parameters are "nocert" (set to equal yes), "salesamount" (insert sales figure), and salesref (insert reference for sales figures). Erick (talk) 19:50, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm trying but its not working (note I haven't saved the work) Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:20, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Region | Certification | Certified units/sales |
---|---|---|
Argentina | — | 781,000[1] |
Erick (talk) 23:03, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Indeed, what Erick said. Sometimes the certified amount is much higher than the sales because RIAA certifications are for shipments, not sales (Kiss albums come to mind). Sometimes sales are higher than certifications because from some reason the certification authority did not certify the sales. For example RIAJ would not certify an album if it sold while out of the top 100 (or was it 300?). It can even be as simple as some local dispute. That's why we have fields for both certification and sales, in case they do not agree. And the code Erick used was
{{Certification Table Entry|region=Argentina|type=album|title=Romances|artist=Luis Miguel|nocert=yes|salesamount=781,000|salesref=<ref name="arg1997"/>}}

Wikipedia policy allows us to link to legal streamed copies of albums. It would be useful to draw up a guideline on how and when to link to such albums; however, there is concern that it may not be appropriate as the music would not be available in all parts of the world. Is the benefit of having access to the music for most users outweighed by the fact that some users will follow a link to find the music is not playable in their region? Your view would be helpful at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums. SilkTork ✔Tea time 02:25, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
