ATP Records page

Please don't keep adding pre-1972 records to the atp records page at ATP_World_Tour_records. The atp started in 1972 and that article is for 1972-onwards. There are other slam page records that deal with the Open era in which that data is already present. I thought I was clear in the edit summary but evidently I failed to convey. The ATP has recognised that Rod Laver's Grand Slam on 1969 is an ATP record. Hence why you can view Rod Laver's Post 1958 slams on this official ATP profile despite the ATP only being formed in 1972. . I fail to see how your personal opinion of what you think the ATP says is a record or not is greater than the opinion of the ATP itself.

Thanks for answering. The problem is three fold. One, the article is 1972 onwards and is linked to an ATP article that specifically says the ATP was formed in 1972. If you have a group that was formed in 1972 how do you encompass things that happen before you exist? Two, the source is also ambiguous even though it's the ATP website. Notice that Laver's ATP ranking starts in 1973 and also notice that it says he won Davis Cup in 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1973... and that his record at Wimbledon was 50-7 with victories in 1961, 1962, 1968, 1969. A lot they have in there because people want to know not because they are ATP records. Then you go to the match record page and yes, they include all the Open era matches it would seem. But then you go to their history page [[1]] and again it says they formed in 1972 and gives highlights through the years starting in 1973. Third, we have pages that deal with Open era records so if as you seem to indicate, ATP records = Open era records, then this page is not needed, is a duplicate, and should be merged into Open era pages. My revision was undid; I do care about this on principle. The information was correct when I did the revision- medals tally is updated on a continuous basis at the right hand corner of the website http://www.cwgdelhi2010.org/. The medals tally in the internal links may not necessarily reflect recent changes- http://results.cwgdelhi2010.org/en/Root.mvc/Medals; Take note and do not undo.
