[edit]yeah that could possibly be something i would be interested in
did you see the problems i was having on the daybreak (abc prgram starring taye diggs) page or this just an offer you send out to all new users??
did i respond to the message on my talk page in the correct manner? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dank325 (talk • contribs) 21:05, 2 March 2007 (UTC).
Charles Schlueter - thanks
[edit]Hi - wrt this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation/2007-03-02#Charles_Schleuter - thanks very much. Amazingly common mistake, well worth catching. Indeed I fear that the wrong spelling is more common than the right one! I would have done it myself but am doing wiki-cold-turkey! (From another IP but same person.) Thanks again 82.45.248.177 17:39, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article East Belmont Saints, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Ruffini deletion
[edit]There are plenty of political bios on wikipedia of politicos far less influential than Patrick Ruffini. I am mystified at the decision
I am further perplexed as the wiki editor who made this decision listed as home address as Ontario, Canada, and depicted no special knowledge as to American politics on his profile. I would suggest that he is simply not qualified to determine who is a notable or non-notable American political activist

Hey, thanks for your contribs to WP:AFC. Could you do me a favor and make sure, however, not to use this template without an explanation? Otherwise, people won't understand what's wrong with their entry. Thanks. Patstuarttalk·edits 20:52, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Your RFA
[edit]Hey, just thought I'd say good luck and hope you don't get too stressed out over the next seven days. My only word of advice, having failed a few months back, is to take the oppose's on the chin. If they seem unreasonable to you then they'll no doubt seem unreasonable to others and they'll probably speak on your behalf! I was told off for replying to opposes and the last thing I want to see is other candidates suffering the same fate! Anyway, as I said, all the best for the forthcoming week! The Rambling Man 17:10, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice, well wishes, and approval vote! I'm not really planning to put a lot of time and energy into debating with the oppose votes, I mainly just wanted to clear up what exactly Hipocrite meant by "process wonkery", so I can see if it's something I should try to improve on in the future. --Maelwys 17:16, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Good luck man, you will make a fine Admin. :) EnsRedShirt 19:08, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Did you know that Hipocrite retired after opposing your RfA..--Cometstyles 12:50, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Actually it appears that he retired before opposing it, and then decided to come back just long enough to post his opposition. Apparently, I'm just that special. ;-) --Maelwys 12:52, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hehe..Hope you win..anywayz when I return to Wikipedia, I hope to see you as an Admin..Cheers:-)..--Cometstyles 12:55, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I know I did not support your RfA (am neutral as explained there) but still, I just wanted to say that I hope you're not taking the current turn your RfA has taken too hard. This wave of opposes on the "deny me adminship" comment is beyond absurd and you should regard it as such. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 04:58, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- As others have said don't take it too hard. Take the useful criticism into account to the extent you can use it to improve and forget the rest. If you do that and keep up the good work you should be fine next time. RfA is a little random sometimes. - Taxman Talk 18:47, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Why if you closed the debate, would you allow such moronic oppostion comments be allowed to weigh so heavy on the descision to oppose, especially when he had 75% of the vote when it was supposed to be closed? EnsRedShirt 18:53, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm really sorry if my !vote in any way swung it; as I said, it wasn't done out of any disrespect to you and your abilities, but just down to a personal criterion of x user talk edits. I forget what x I was using, but yours seemed awfully low to be able to properly judge you as a candidate. I also want to say that your demeanour throughout has been exemplary, and I feel sure I will be !voting "support" the next time, in May I suppose. I thought long and hard about changing to "oppose" (so long that I missed the notional closing time); it may have been the hardest I've thought about any RfA !vote. Very best wishes, --Guinnog 19:11, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well he's not me and I'm not him... but thanks for the comments anyway. ;-) --Maelwys 19:13, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe we look alike.. In a dark room.. With no windows... Underground... Nah even then we don't look too much alike. ;) EnsRedShirt 19:41, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Olympics WikiProject membership update
[edit]The Olympics WikiProject is performing a membership update to check for currently active and idle members.
Because your username appears on the members list, we kindly ask you visit this page and put your name under the appropriate section, using the code #{{user|USERNAME}}
, in order to renew or cancel your membership.
You're welcome
[edit]No problem. You were rational, fair, and even-handed as a mod at Kedy and the Big D, and I know you well enough that you're not going to transform into an EVIL POWER HUNGRY TYRANT!!!!11ONE! with the addition of an electronic mop. Anyway, yeah, I'm technically a Wikipedian, though my visits are sporadic and inattentive; the only reason I knew about the RfA vote was because ERS mentioned it on AIM to me. My wikiing addiction is fed much more at Wookieepedia than here. jSarek 07:54, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Afc WikiProject
[edit]Hi there! It's nice to see you helping out at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. In case you are interested, we have a new WikiProject located at WP:WPAFC. Please drop by and check it out. Thanks again!--Xnuala (talk)(Review) 19:18, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- This is even better news, that we have someone with some experience aboard! I know what you mean about being the only one around in there--when I got involved it felt the same way. This is why I've been cheerleading about it recently! Thanks for joining up!--Xnuala (talk)(Review) 22:50, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Walt Disney World Monorail System
[edit]Right now I am getting ready to take my kids to an appointment, but if you are still on later today, I will try to pitch in and lend a hand with Walt Disney World Monorail System. --Kralizec! (talk) 18:50, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Try as I might to WP:AGF, I cannot help but notice the distinct smell of drier lint. Should we just ignore it and hope he finds it educational? What do you feel we should do ... ? --Kralizec! (talk) 14:07, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Smells a little that way when this was the very first edit the account ever made. But the account was created almost 6 months ago (and 4 months before HM), so for it to be the same user than it would seem he created an account without using it, came back later and made a new one (forgetting he already had one), and then later remembered about the first. If all he wants to do is discuss things on the talk page, I've no problem leaving him be. If he starts to revert things and edit the article in a familiar way, then I'd go to WP:RFCU for potential ban evasion. --Maelwys 14:16, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, so much for our idea of letting him get some educational good out of it ... --Kralizec! (talk) 17:52, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, noticed that. Ah well indeed... --Maelwys 17:59, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Hipocrite
[edit]Please do not post any more materials about this banned user to my talk page. I have no idea what they are referring to, and I do not care. The entire episode with that user seems like excessive drama to me. Jeffrey Vernon Merkey 15:07, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Erin Davis.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. [edit]Please stop stalking me. Thank you. treySex Me 16:28, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Please read links before you post them. From the link you posted: "This does not include checking up on an editor to fix errors or violations of Wikipedia policy". All I did was fix a single violation of Wikipedia policy that I happened to notice. The same way that last night, after I disagreed with you on some reasoning to delete an image, you coincidentally ended up lodging complaints regarding 3 images I'd uploaded, because they were all in violation of Wikipedia policy (all of which I've corrected now, thank you for pointing those out to me). --Maelwys 16:32, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it is hypocritical of you to talk to headmouse about image problems and have many yourself. Yamla's Sock.
- I agree, which is why I thanked you for helping me notice and correct my problems. And it's similarily hypocritical for you to talk about fair use problems (such as the one you tagged on one of my photos) and then break fair use yourself (by posting a FU image in a template), especially when you did it as a revert to somebody else pointing out that very issue to you. At least when the issue was pointed out to me I fixed it, instead of just ignoring it and reverting. --Maelwys 16:37, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

AFC Backlog Drive!
[edit]WikiProject AFC is holding a one month long assessment drive!
The goal of this drive is to eliminate the backlog of unreviewed articles. The drive is running from July 15, 2007 – August 15, 2007.
Awards to be won range from delicacies such as the WikiCookie to barnstars.
There is a backlog of more than one year, so start reviewing articles! Visit the drive's page and help out!
This drive was organized by GrooveDog in an attempt to terminate that nasty backlog.

WikiProject Articles for creation
[edit]We are one week in to the drive, and it's already going fantastic. Numerous days of backlogs have been tackled, with hundreds of articles having been reviewed. We do, however, have some news!
First off, a HUGE congratulations to everyone participating so far. I understand some members are inactive due to vacation, but we are still making great progress.
Secondly, make sure that before you go off and review old submissions, that you review all submissions for the present day, and the day before, so that we aren't actually making a bigger backlog, by letting submissions get archived while we're checking stuff from 2006.
Third, remember to update your running total, on the drive page. Honesty is the best policy, so if you lie about the number of articles you've reviewed, we'll all make angry faces while looking at your userpage.
And, last, if you have any questions about the drive, feel free to ask me, or any other members of the project.
Great job, everyone! We're going to get that backlog!
