Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Girls' Generation has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://smonelove.wordpress.com/snsd/ (matching the regex rule \bwordpress\.com).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 07:31, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Girls' Generation, but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses novel, unpublished syntheses of previously published material. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. Someone963852 (talk) 22:08, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Girls' Generation

[edit]

Please note that any addition of "positions" is basically original research, as there is no reliable source that clearly states the positions. For example, many would consider Tae-yeon the lead vocalist, and I'm sure that few people would see the distinction between a "main" vocalist and a "lead" vocalist. If you wish to readd the positions, please find a reliable source that backs it up.

Thanks in advance. SKS (talk) 02:42, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with the above. Just a thought, don't add any more original research because you know it's going to get reverted anyways. Add counterparts, positions, etc. to a Girls' Generation fan site, not Wikipedia. Someone963852 (talk) 11:04, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of SeoHyun

[edit]

An article that you have been involved in editing, SeoHyun, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SeoHyun. Thank you.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. SKS (talk) 04:51, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seohyun

[edit]

Please do not recreate SeoHyun as it has been redirected, per the deletion discussion. You may not agree with it, which is fine, but the right thing to do is bring it up under deletion review, not just recreate it. Please note that SeoHyun does not seem to meet notability requirements for a stand-alone page, unlike Taeyeon and Yoona. Please discuss this issue with others on the Girls' Generation talk page, or on my talk page. Thank you. SKS (talk) 21:03, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the AfD was a redirect. Stop recreating the article follow SKS' advice and go for a deletion review. MS (Talk|Contributions) 12:10, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to SeoHyun, you will be blocked from editing. MS (Talk|Contributions) 12:40, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Jeepday (talk) 13:31, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Girls' Generation (Members). Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Rsrikanth05 (talk) 10:44, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your uploads

[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images, however, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads and users who repeatedly upload or misuse non-free images may be blocked from editing. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 11:09, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Kibum.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.crunchyroll.com/group/Super_Junior_-_Super_Dream. As a copyright violation, File:Kibum.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Kibum.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at File talk:Kibum.jpg and send an email with the message to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at File talk:Kibum.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on File talk:Kibum.jpg.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Manway (talk) 17:34, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive uploads.
The next time you upload an inappropriate image, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 07:16, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Im Yoona, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:So-eun Kim.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 16:26, 13 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 16:26, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:SNSD official concert tour poster.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Please read up on Wikipedia standards and guidelines....

[edit]

You appear to constantly make edits and changes to pages that are not necessary, even after you've been warned about them. It would help if you could work with the various editors on the SNSD-related pages that you're editing.

I undid your move on f(x) because as per the Manual of Style for popular music, band is the main term used, regardless of whether they're a rock band or a dance group or vocal group. No further distinction is necessary because there is no other notable musical group called f(x).

Also, your images need the proper copyright tags. Otherwise, you'll keep seeing them deleted. Keep in mind that for any living people (including music groups), using company images or news pictures is not allowed, as those kind of images aer not allowed under fair use. Free images must be used — free as in free of copyright, not free as in cost. I hope that makes sense.

I don't want to stop you from editing, because you seem to want to contribute positively. It would just help more in the long run if you could go by the rules. It would also stop you from being banned.

Let me know if there's anything I can help you with. SKS (talk) 15:18, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Again, another reminder: All musical groups are to be disambiguated with the term (band). Not "group", not "duo", not anything else but "band". Please edit accordingly. Thank you. SKS (talk) 20:42, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Girls' Generation (CFs/Endorsements). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Girls' Generation (CFs/Endorsements). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:27, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Nia (group) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Song Kwang-sik requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SKS (talk) 20:44, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:SNSD 1st Album.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:SNSD 1st Album.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for File:SNSD into the new world.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:SNSD into the new world.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. A tag has been placed on File:SNSD in BKK live.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. File source problem with File:SNSD performing Genie.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:SNSD performing Genie.jpg.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:20, 14 December 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 06:20, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you read your talk page?

[edit]

As you can see, your talk page is littered with deletion notifications and warnings. Please try to take this into consideration when editing. When you upload images without licensing information like where you got it from and what the image is trying to portray, it WILL be deleted, as per the rules of Wikipedia. Please work with the editors, I've noticed that you have been making various templates for artists which is a good job, but for pages such as Girls' Generation, it's better to talk to the editors regarding the page rather than ploughing on regardless.
Adding material like "Seohyun can play the piano very well" even after it has been removed with a valid reason being given counts as ownership and could get you banned.

Also, Girls' Generation has never been referred to as the "Time of Girls", which more or less means "Girls' Generation", since Time (in that context) means Generation - "The Generation of Girls". So please could you stop adding it in regardless of other editors' words of advice.
If you don't understand you can ask me or other editors, but I hope you reply back just so I know you've read this message. NPeeerbvsesz (Push) 10:07, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not put nicknames under "Alias" in the infobox. The section is for official stage names and the like. SKS (talk) 05:43, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:SNSD in BKK live.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Just a little advice

[edit]

I've noticed that you've been tagging a lot of sections with maintenance tags. However there's a little mistake with what you're doing. Instead of adding {{unreferenced|date = January 2009}}, for a certain section you should actually add {{unreferenced-section|date = January 2010}}. Please notice the -section part. members section

[edit]

The reason that Girls' Generation had its members section removed was the fact that it was almost completely unsourced. that does not apply to every single girl group page. Please do not delete the section on every page you come across just because you disagree with it. If you disagree, bring it up on the talk page.

And in that vein, please stop tagging every section as fanpov or needing sources or cleanup when the tag doesn't apply. It would help if you would at least comment on the page or talk with other editors. SKS (talk) 17:33, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 177 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:SujuOnBKK.jpg.

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:SM Entertainment Official Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 04:30, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
