Personally, I don't think it's a big problem to edit an article you have an interest in as long as you follow the guidelines. The content must be encyclopedic and maintain a neutral point of view. It must not be promotional and you must cite reliable sources. If you have a particular question, I'd be happy to take a look and give my opinion or help with formatting. Wikitext markup language can be a challenge for new users. I lived in Midland until 1972 and still have family there. As a matter of fact, I'm flying up there from Jacksonville on Friday morning.
