Attribution for uploaded images

[edit]

Madevasasha, you have uploaded a large number of images claiming in all cases that you created the image with creation dates in the past few months. The exif data attached to the images tells me that they have been taken over 2011-2012 using camera's as varied as a Canon EOS 40D, a Nikon D80, a Canon EOS 450D, a Nikon D90, a waterproof Olympus TG-810, a Nikon D300, an Olympus SP500UZ. This variety and the mismatch in dates makes me suspect that you may not be the images copyright owner. Can you explain this huge variety of equipment used to create these images and the fact that the dates you claim to have taken the images are very different to the dates electronically recorded by the cameras in the images ? - Peripitus (Talk) 11:22, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I would like to explain the photos which you commented on today - I am in charge of marketing for the University of Ostrava and I have been given the photos by the respective departments and by my friend, a photographer, for these reasons. Unfortunately, I have not been able to complete any "copyright" form on Wikipedia successfully which is why - to make it easier for me as a beginner - I have claimed that the photos are mine, which I am sure the authors that had given those photos to me - would confirm if asked. I would be very happy if I managed to do all the copyrights all right. If you really mind, feel free to delete the photos or give me advice please how to solve it in the simplest manner. Thank you once again for your careful supervision of my contributions and have a nice day Sona Siepakova Madevasasha Madevasasha (talk) 12:02, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the detailed response. The copyright of these images, it appears, falls into one of the many grey areas but based on what you've written I'm happy to take it on faith that they are correctly licenced. Strictly speaking when uploading images where the copyright is owned by others, the process for confirming that they are under free licences is at Wikipedia:Permission#For_images - Peripitus (Talk) 12:15, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you - next time I will take more time and go through the process according to the guidelines. And maybe - if I manage to discuss it with our busy researchers - I will update the licensing forms with the proper confirmations even by the already uploaded images.. Once again thank you. And I have one more question - could you suggest what I should delete or change so that the comment from May dissapears that the text is an advertisement? I have already changed it several times - this version now is almost completely new and the texts come from the official web of our university, but the "advertisement" comment is still there :( I have no idea what exactly should be deleted or changed - could you please give me a tip? I will also write this to Mean as Custard.. Best regards Sona Madevasasha Madevasasha (talk) 18:47, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Hello, Madevasasha. You have stated that you are in charge of marketing for the University of Ostrava, and that places you in a conflict of interest position. People who are affiliated with the article's subject have an inherent bias, and must be careful that their edits are done in good faith and not with promotional intent. Please be aware that your edits must comply with Wikipedia's core policies of neutrality and verifiability, or they will be challenged and possibly removed. Thanks. --Drm310 (talk) 06:12, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

I will do my best and study all the resources so that I do not take sides. Placing a text on Wiki was my personal attempt so that there is not just a stub. Please feel free to delete what you consider inappropriate. I am learning how to use this environment on my own and it has become a great lesson for me in so many aspects that I might seem slow in my corrections, as I learn on the go, by making mistakes.. I will be happy if I learn one day how to make good encyclopaedic texts in compliance with all your rules and help expand the Czech and English versions of other sites as well. I like Wikipedia very much and contribute with some little money to the Czech Wikimedia every month. So please believe that I really do these things in good faith. Thank you all for the tips and advice and do what you have to do and what you feel is all right :)

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
