Hello Maddyy40. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Maddyy40. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Maddyy40|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 11:30, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I created this article as it was needed. I am not charging any fee or being compensated for the same. I hope this article will be accepted soon. Maddyy40 (talk) 12:11, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I see you declared a COI, but please read the above. 331dot (talk) 11:31, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please answer my question, what is the nature of your conflict of interest? 331dot (talk) 13:54, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ohh, I did that accidently and I never noticed. Probably when I was adding infobox person. May I just delete that and resubmit the article? Any suggestions from your side would be helpful, please!! If required, I may also remove few citations!! Maddyy40 (talk) 16:17, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Make sure you are logged in when you edit, so we know it's you. 331dot (talk) 13:54, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! ofcourse Maddyy40 (talk) 16:19, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that you posted a COI notice accidentally. How did you come to edit about Mr. Saraf? You didn't pick him at random to edit about. No subject "needs" an article, so what is the source of your need? The more honest you are, the more we can help. 331dot (talk) 16:33, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Being really honest to say that I put that COI unintentionally. I am an Urdu-speaking person and I admire Mr. Saraf, the work he is doing is admirable and he truly deserves a wiki page. I don't know how to be more truthful to be to get this page published. Maddyy40 (talk) 16:43, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That you admire him doesn't tell me how you came to edit about him. How did you come to take the professional image of Mr. Saraf, as you claim you did, if you have no conflict of interest? 331dot (talk) 19:21, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am working at the Rekhta foundation, one of the organizations founded by Mr. Saraf. The same organization working on the preservation of Urdu and other regional languages. I got the image from my working place and got the full right to use the image as per the requirement. I am not being compensated or paid specially for doing this task. I hope this will clear any doubt from your end. Please help to get this article published. Maddyy40 (talk) 04:03, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you work for his foundation, you are a paid editor. You do not need to be specifically paid for edits. The Terms of Use require you to make the paid editing disclosure. This is a legal requirement and not negotiable. You should do this with one of your next edits. You also certainly do have a conflict of interest despite your prior now-dishonest statements. The paid editing disclosure covers that, though, once you make it. Please be very familiar with both policies. Your dishonest statements have now caused a lack of trust here, after I gave you every chance to be honest, and you will have to work hard to build it back, which will include strictly following relevant policies.
Unless you personally took the image with your own camera, you cannot claim it as your own work. The photographer needs to upload it, or copyright needs to be demonstrated and donated, see WP:DCP for more information.
Also note that images are not relevant to the draft approval process, which only considers the text and sources. Images can wait until the draft is accepted. 331dot (talk) 10:24, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry to say but I didn't know that edition the page will cause all this. I am an employee of the organization and I wasn't clear about the direct compensation for the edit. It was totally unintentional. I have already submitted paid disclosure at my page along with resubmission of the article, removed few citations as well. I was provided the image from the organization, can I reupload the image with donation copyright not claiming it as my own work?? Maddyy40 (talk) 12:00, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you may suggest few points to improve to get this article published. I can remove some citations which may look like a promotion and some language changes... Maddyy40 (talk) 12:06, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You denied a COI at all- going so far as to remove the notice when asked about it- and only admitted you worked for the company when you had to explain the image licensing, so I'm not convinced this was unintentional, but you've now complied, so I'll move past that for now. Several parts of the draft are unsourced, and there is promotional language that must be removed- articles must have a neutral point of view. The draft article must not merely document Mr. Saraf's activities and accomplishments, it must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about him and what is significant or influential about him, showing how he meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person.
Writing a new article is the hardest task to perform on Wikipedia, and it's even harder with a conflict of interest. You must set aside everything you know about him and mere reporting of his activities, and only write based on the content of independent sources that chose on their own(and not based on materials from him or his associates) to write about him. That is usually very difficult for people in your position to do. We usually advise people to gain experience and knowledge before attempting to edit a new article, by editing existing articles first and using the new user tutorial. 331dot (talk) 12:07, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for sharing your feedback, it would be very helpful. I will reupload the article after re-write with more sources. Hopefully, next time it will be accepted. Maddyy40 (talk) 12:40, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the image, ideally the photographer should upload it. If the contract the photographer had assigned copyright to Mr. Saraf, he would need to upload it. If copyright was assigned to the organization and you have the authority from the organization to release the copyright(be certain you want to do that, it would mean anyone could use the image for any purpose including commercial) you must follow the process at WP:DCP. As I said, I would advise you to wait on images until and if the draft is accepted, images are not relevant to the draft approval process. 331dot (talk) 12:10, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That would be okay to wait for image part. Maddyy40 (talk) 12:42, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Sir, I have updated the article again. Please check. thanks Maddyy40 (talk) 09:23, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have submitted it for review, and someone will review it, but awards don't usually contribute to notability unless the awards themselves merit articles(like Academy Award or Nobel Peace Prize). 331dot (talk) 10:21, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
