Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Maddiemac800, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Potential 5 Articles

[edit]
  1. National Register of Historic Places
  • Was there something in particular you were looking at here that needed improvement? This is has Good Article (GA) status...although that status if quite old (and therefore doesn't mean that it remains perfect), I do think that this is a bit more developed than we'd like for this project.
  1. podcast
  • I actually think that this might be a good one, but with some warning: someone recently came in and worked on that lead (See the talk page). Only select this if you're willing to hop in and join in their discussion and work with them on shaping up that lead in conjunction with the rest of the article. You'd have to hop in there soon and be ready for them to start/keep working with it at the same time.
  1. Motion Picture Association of America film rating system
  • This one is in need of some advanced editing but it might be out of our league here. The article is both longer than than our target and with a more elaborate talk/edit history. If you really want to do it, let's talk it over first.
  1. Debellatio
  • This one is a bit short on content. There are a few editors who have worked on it over the years. It could use a general reformat into a more Wikipedia appropriate structure, but I'm not sure if there is enough content for that. Did you see the discussion in the Talk page? It is quite old, but interesting that a small article like this would inspire that much discussion.
  1. De Soto National Forest
  • Like Debellatio, this one is a bit short on content but could use some opening up of organization and content. Not much going on here by way of edits and discussion, so you'll likely not get much input for it. You could do it, but it might not yield as much substantive editing as we're looking for.

If you want either of the last two, let me know and I'll add them to the list. Etherfire (talk) 20:23, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
