Re: Black Rock Shooter characters

[edit]

I reverted your additions and redirected the article back to Black Rock Shooter for a number of reasons. First, it would seem that most of the info came from this wiki, and per WP:ELNO point 12, you generally can't cite articles with external wikis, especially because anyone can edit them, and because they are easy to include original research. Plus, there's no reason to go into this level of detailed plot and in-universe information for a mere 50 minute OVA.-- 22:18, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But in terms of the OVA, which is what the main article is about, the rest of that information is better left off-wiki on the external Black Rock Shooter wiki where all of it already is. Not everything is for Wikipedia. If you do not agree with me, take it up at WT:ANIME.-- 22:00, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a subpage for you: User:Mad Doggin 7/Black Rock Shooter characters; see also my comments at WT:ANIME#Need help.-- 22:32, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updated link, references and character pics with license tags. Time to upload to wikipedia.Mad Doggin 7 (talk) 17:10, 3 September 2010 (UTC) Can someone please tell me why my images keep getting deleted even though i've posted license info?Mad Doggin 7 (talk)Mad Doggin[reply]

I demand that "other characters from the other world" section be reinstated. Just because they weren't in the OVA doesn't mean they aren't Valid. It no different from when someone creates a manga and the anime version that comes later has several characters missing. You wouldn't leave those characters out just because they weren't in the anime. Mad Doggin 7 (talk) 21:51, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Mad Doggin[reply]

Please discuss issues here at the talk page. As well, please read the manual of style and article about ownership. You may also want to join the discussion at the WikiProject to ask help from other editors to improve the article. Fox816 (talk) 20:57, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Just to answer your question regarding the images, they do not have the appropriate licensing and non-free information listed to be kept which is why they are being automatically tagged and deleted by Bots/Admin. In addition the character page article should not contain that many Non-free images. At best there should only be 2-3 images (hence why group shots are preferred in almost all character pages) but more than 5 is already grounds to have all the images in the article removed.

Regarding BRS article itself, the section containing characters not presented in the OVA but created by Huke are not notable which is why I removed them. They play no role in the OVA and information on them are scant at best, aside what they look like and what weapons they use which is entirely based off the illustrations by Huke. Basically, it's fancruft. The entire article itself can be trimmed and fitted into the main Black Rock Shooter article. All the sources are primary and link to character biographies. There is a lack of out-of-universe information such as production notes, early designs, or commentary by Huke/illustrators or production staff, etc... The main article is on the short side as well so I would say a merge would be the best option. I'll try and clean up both pages and get some help from the community. Good luck editing! Fox816 (talk) 03:17, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I completely disagree with your assessment of the other "Other world' characters. This is no different from when someone makes a manga and the anime version that comes later leaves a few characters out. Now you wouldn't leave those characters out in the wikipedia page just because the anime left them out. And just because there isn't much info about them out right now, doesn't mean they should be left out. As for the imagesd, Huke has not created a group pic of all the characters he's created. Only individual ones thus far. Mad Doggin 7 (talk) 18:21, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Mad Doggin[reply]

Please discuss article issues here on this article talk page rather than on your own talk page so we can get input from all the editors. I have stated my opinion there which is my reply to your question about the non-OVA characters. Fox816 (talk) 20:20, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:OVA Yuu.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 20:35, 7 September 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 20:35, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not continue to upload files missing information on their copyright status, as you did with File:Grey Rock Ninja Two Zero.jpg. Note that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously and that the copyright status of all media files uploaded to Wikipedia must be verifiable by others. If you are unsure of the correct copyright template, please refer to the list of image copyright tags. If you would like to experiment with uploading files, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. A tag has been placed on File:Mato Kuroi.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:44, 7 September 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. A tag has been placed on File:Dead scythe and dead master.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

File source problem with File:Golden Rock Saw.PNG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Golden Rock Saw.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

Please do not continue to upload files missing information on their copyright status. Thank you. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 23:18, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I have tagged:

For deletion due to blatant Copyright violation as you used the free Creative Common licensing on them. Wikipedia is very strict on the use of copyrighted contents. --KrebMarkt (talk) 13:46, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Explaination

[edit]

From Vocaloid;

According to Crypton, a petition started on Facebook exceeded the needed 39,390 members in November to join Hatsune Miku's account for an English version to be released and an announcement is due to be released from Crypton.[28][29]

All that is needed is it to be summed up in the "Vocaloid 2" section, there is no need to repeat something twice. 94.168.119.106 (talk) 17:52, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
