Hah, it was practically impossible with AussieLegend guarding the site, with his squad of sock-puppets. I just gave up, I did not have the hours required to go on and on and on and on with his goon squad constantly posting paragraph after paragraph of wiki-lawyering crap. Once I gave up, they declared consensus (lol) and got the page locked for 3 months. I left the ISP itself shortly afterwards, mainly because it was damn near impossible to browse (and the whole "your p2p is useless and not worthy of our concern attitude of the owners), plus it was easier to leave then than have aussielegend pass on my info to the exetel higher-ups who are notably vindictive towards anyone who is negative about their company (truthfully or not). Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Sydney Derby (AFL) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. The complete named of the club is Western Sydney Wanderes FC, and the complete name of Manchester United is Manchester United Red Devils, and Liverpool's is Liverpool Reds, and Chelsea Blues, Arsenal Gunners etc. There is no need to be too creative. • • In response to this, let's be fair here. I support and understand your claim to label the club by it's announced full and complete name. But I'll point out a similar matter, the A-League club Newcastle United Jets, is referred to as Newcastle Jets as apose to its full and complete name. Just to be fair, from your part, I hope that you understand what I am trying to indicate. That is all. However, the wikipedia codes of conduct would not permit us to argue over this. So let's just leave it at what's the right thing to do. I am sure that in time if the public, commentators and stats refer to the club as Western Sydney then myself or anyother parties will have a valid point in regards to changing the name's status. OK, we see that you are pissed off that the Sydney Derby article was deleted. I have actually asked the deleting admin to WP:USERFY the article into your userspace, as it was basically a "not yet notable" deletion. As we get closer to the actual game, you may be able to find sufficient sources for it to be acceptable to be moved back to mainspace. To nominate a bunch of AFL articles in retaliation is very poor form. Yes, the new Qclash and Sydney derby articles are borderline notable, but that is why we have {{notability}} templates and your nomination of the Western Derby and Showdown just made it clear that you were retaliating in anger. Don't make this a A-league vs AFL thing. Hopefully the admin will userfy the A-league article and it can be recreated in a few months time. Regards, The-Pope (talk) 10:08, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

I merely saw the exact same problems on those pages that I was informed about with the Sydney Derby (I went from the Sydney Derby disambig page to the AFL derby to the box showing AFL rivalries and noticed very few of them had any notable sources and as many have had no sources for some time I put up the AFD's). Notice how I did not AFD the ANZAC day match as it follows the guidelines of the site with a well documented series of independent sources. QClash has zero independent references after a year. The Queens Birthday match has zero independent references after 3 years. The Sydney Derby and Western Derby articles have the same issue. The "Showdown" has 'no references at all and has had a request for references up since January 2011! I am now more displeased about the improper cancellation of the afd debates by an admin who is not impartial (AFD guidelines say they must be impartial) who used speedy keep incorrectly to shut down debate about several articles with major issues prematurely. I have already contacted the deleting admin and will now proceed with a DRV. I thank you for your interest in the issue and your sound judgement in the article debates. Heh, a transgression of WP's most hilarious rule - don't apply the rules consistently. Presumably the is a rule somewhere else which says "Do apply the rules consistently".

Yeah, it's a bit silly. The idea that someone can just ignore the rules because they think it's 'disruptive' is illogical. That essay says if you are frustrated with the way a policy is being applied etc, but I'm not frustrated with the policy. The policy is just fine. I'm frustrated with peeople who think they can ignore policy just because it happens to be 'bad' for articles under a project that they are guarding. If they actually followed the guidelines and didn't just ignore them at whim to protect their project numbers there would be an issue. Macktheknifeau (talk) 06:11, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Stop selectively interpreting the rules of the site to favour the AFL project and its minor sport and you might have people look at your work more appreciatively. If any 'battlefield' started, it was because of AFL fans who can't recognise their insignificance on the world stage and who look to make up for it by harassing football users and football articles.
