Current events in Hong Kong and Macao
[edit]Hello Hei Chon~! Thanks for your contributions to some Macao-related articles. You might be interested to take a look at Current events in Hong Kong and Macao. You may also be interested to set up a notice board for Macao. Happy editing! — Instantnood 08:20, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
- Give a try.. and let me know if you need any assistance. :-) I did not know there were so many Hong Kong wikipedians until the list of participants on the notice board was growing. It does help keeping wikipedians together and provide them with a place to talk with each other. — Instantnood 10:21, July 30, 2005 (UTC)
A translation request
[edit]Hello Hei Chon. Alan has put up a request at the Hong Kong notice board. See if you or any of your friends can help~ :-) — Instantnood 08:54, July 31, 2005 (UTC)
About the map of Macao
[edit]Hi, .
I have already correct the name of the "Governor Norbe de Carvalho Bridge" on the map of Macao that I made recently. Thanks for your reminder.
By the way, can you please look up how to say "Guangdong Province", "Zhuhai City", "Drawn by Alan Mak for Wikipedia", "Lotus Bridge" in Portugese, so that I can make a Portugese version for the map? Thank you.
Alanmak 22:05, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Thank youn for your Portugese translations.
By the way, are your cousin studying in Portugal or something?
Also, would you like to tell me your ICQ / MSN, so that we can discuss about collaborating on some Macao-related articles some time?

Õ==Bem-vindo== Welcome to Wikipedia. It's great to have you on board--especially wonderful to have people from a such a wide range of backgrounds add to the richness/divesity of Wiki. Particularly the small gem of Macau, which Anglophones would benefit from learning more about!
>I am a Wikipedian coming from Macau.
You could probably say "I am a Wikipedian from Macau"--much simple and more natural.
Neither Portuguese Romanization, Jyutping, nor Pinyin are languages, only writing conventions. Canontese, Mandarin are languages/dialects. Therefore you may wish to say, "My name is Cheong Hei Chon pronounced in Cantonese--written as Zoeng Hei Zeon or Cheung Hei Chun in Jyutping or other romanizations, and Zhang Xijun pronounced in Mandarin and written in pinyin. (By the way the typical English usage is Hanyu pinyin not Chinese pinyin.) I realize you know all this but I guess I'm saying it for the benefit of other Wikipedians who may not be familiar with Chinese languages and cultures.
Finally, fala português? I'm really trying to figure out the role of Portuguese in Macau in the 21st century. Is it doomed to a slow, quiet death, and nearly in the last stages already, almost as bad in Spanish in the Philippines? Any hope left? (Also, I invite you to contribute to Patuá if you've got some information to share.)

English
[edit]Please improve your English if you are to edit English Wikipedia. This was not a good edit. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jannik_Sinner&diff=981842210&oldid=981841914

Thank you for your warm advice. When I first read the article, someone mistakenly put Sexten as Sinner's last name. I just wanted to make a minor edit. But maybe at the mean time someone added some details and maybe I didn't notice and messed it up. HeiChon (talk) 12:22, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
