Feedback to Nelson Taylor

[edit]

Hi Matt, Great work. You filled the content gap on Nelson Taylor's service in the California Senate and Civil War. You explained his legislative activities in the California Senate and combat activities in Civil War battles. You acknowledged that you speculated on his rationale to resign from the commission in 1863. If you can, maybe you can provide other perspectives for Taylor's rationale for his resignation? Also, you can possibly expand on his tenure in the House of Representatives. You can explain his desire to protect African Americans' rights and provide context for Taylor's support of the expansion of federal infrastructure to the West. I see that you use great primary sources. Do you plan to use more secondary sources for the assignment's purpose?
