O'Donnell family tree

There is an article Iníon Dubh which from 16:59, 11 January 2009 contained a family tree.

At 11:50, 24 June 2016 you made an edit which contained a very similar tree to the article Rory O'Donnell, 1st earl of Tyrconnell.

I am in the process of cleaning up the tree—see User:PBS/test2. While I can follow the first tree, your tree with its addition is not clearly formatted with the Firefox browser I use. As you can see I have recreated the initial O'Donnell family tree, and have added in Hugh O'Donnell, 2nd Earl of Tyrconnell with his sister Mary Stuart O'Donnell.

However I am at a loss to know where the following fit in:

But who are

  • Hugh (dsp)
  • Conn (dsp.)
  • (dsp) had at least one child

?

Hi! Sorry but I can't take credit for it. That edit was simply me moving the article and its entire content back to its original namespace after it was moved to a problematic namespace without discussion. So someone else further back added the information in. Mabuska (talk) 10:15, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

Ah! You ought not to have done that. The correct procedure was to use WP:RM. Doing what you did breaks the history of an article and causes a copyright problem. This is documented in Wikipedia:Moving a page.

Wikipedia:Moving a page also explains how to fix a cut and past move. see also Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. As I am an admin I have gone ahead and fixed it.

It turns out now that the history is restored that I was the original author of the page [back in September 2004‎]. I had long since forgotten that. -- PBS (talk) 20:54, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip! Will make use of RM if I need to undo any future moves. Mabuska (talk) 18:35, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
