Fact
"The idea of exclusive national homelands is a modern fantasy... Yet once they were settled, all the peoples were keen to invent a unique pedigree for themselves. All have suffered too, from the attentions of nationalist historians in our own day, who think nothing of projecting modern identities backwards into prehistory." - Norman Davies, Europe; A History

- Just to state that applies to all sides. Mabuska (talk) 14:36, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

C.S Lewis.
Sorry, I wasn't trying to use the talk page as a forum - I was talking about the article, but in a rather loose way. Er, yeah. I'm also pretty sure it's bad practise to just remove my comment like that when it wasn't a clear violation ^_^ but then I don't think it would of made a good discussion anyway. BLP doesn't apply to Lewis...being dead and all. --Τασουλα (talk) 23:02, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
I never mentioned WP:BLP. I don't think it was that bad practice as it was a clear violation of several parts of point 4 of WP:FORUM. Mabuska (talk) 12:36, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
Derry/Londonderry
Hi, Mabuska. I'm replying to your post here, rather than the IMOS talk page, because I have been saying for some days that any discusion around whether the current convention on Derry/Londonderry is a Good Thing or a Bad Thing should take place at IECOLL, not IMOS, so I have resolved not to post any more at IMOS myself. You say that you believe that "most editors are simply backing keeping the status quo to avoid mass edit-warring around Wikipedia or debates as long and drawn-out as that over Ireland/Republic of Ireland." If that is so then "most editors" are very wise! Mass edit-warring is to be avoided at all costs, and I don't ever want to go through anything like the Ireland/ROI debate again. Scolaire (talk) 19:40, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- To paraphrase what someone already stated in that discussion - if something that is part of the IMOS is being discussed then why should it be discussed anywhere other than at the IMOS discussion page. Mabuska (talk) 21:55, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- That's not a statement. It's a question. Scolaire (talk) 22:41, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- Oh stop being so pedantic. Mabuska (talk) 23:34, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

GOCE July drive wrap-up
Guild of Copy Editors July 2012 backlog elimination drive wrap-up
Participation: Out of 45 people who signed up this drive, 31 have copy-edited at least one article. Lfstevens continues to carry most of the weight, having edited 360 articles and over a quarter of a million words already. Thanks to all who have participated! Final results, including barnstars awarded, will be available early in August here. Progress report: We are once again very close to achieving in our primary goal—removing the oldest three months from the backlog. Only 35 such articles remain at press time. The total backlog currently sits at under 2400 articles, down from 8323 when we started out over two years ago. We are just two articles away from completing all requests made before July 2012 (both are in progress). Copy Edit of the Month: Starting in August, you'll be able to submit your best copy-editing work for palaver, praise, and prizes. See here for details. – Your drive coordinators: Stfg, Allens, and Torchiest. To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list. Our mutual friend is still up to his old tricks- adding flag icons to Carl Frampton etc. His articles are all on my watchlist and it's not a big chore to revert him, but he seems to have a case of WP:IDHT. What are your thought on the next step? Tigerboy1966 22:38, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
- Seeing as i have already issued him a final warning which he ignored i shall report him to AN/I for disruptive editing. Mabuska (talk) 13:09, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
